Passatempo Taverna

It is hard to put into words how great of an experience it was having dinner here last night. We met some old friends and sampled our way through the delicious menu and some of the wines on their bottle list. WOW! Katrina, our server was so attentive and knowledgeable of the food and wine.

Absolutely incredible. Incredible food, locally-sourced, fresh and in-season. Chef Sam does a phenomenal job, and the entire staff is kind, attentive, and dedicated to their craft and service. Go!

Reservations are encouraged. We didn’t have a reservation on Veterans weekend and it was full from 5-8pm. Street parking seemed to be convenient and available. We ordered takeout and were not treated very well. It was a chore getting someone to find out the main entree special and found out the dessert special was not a takeout item. The menu looked very limited. The caesar and pasta were not great for takeout. The meatballs were ok but spicy. When I walked back to use the restroom I observed the waitstaff being very personable at the tables, much different than the mgr or hostess station staff. There are several sections with booths to break up the space and seating at the bar. The bathrooms are pretty basic stalls with a shared wash area outside the bathrooms.

Worth the wait. Easily the best bar and italian in Walla Walla. The staff is knowledge and friendly, the food is spectacular. Small portions that come out slow so order accordingly!

I would give it 4.5 Stars, and the only reason I would ding the food. the half star. was the special I had tonight was a little saltier than I like.nnservice was fantastic. starting with the front desk and going to the server.nnThe old fashion I ordered was very nice. the wine was nice, a house cab.nnThe Caesar salad with anchovies was very good.nnThe meatballs appetizer is excellent. and the focaccia bread was very nice.nnoverall, I would recommend this place wholeheartedly over most every other place in Walla Walla.nnI will update the review on dessert. nnhere's the edit. I went with a traditional tiramisu.nnThe server informed me that it was good, not too sweet and very boozy.nnThey were right on all counts.nnIt was also very moist and nice. light not heavy.nnanother winner.
