It's okay. I loved the close, dim intimacy of the former space and I love how beautifully they've settled into their new space! Once summer hits, I'm sure this place will be bustling all season long! The service was great, perfect balance of attentiveness without haunting, though it took over half an hour to get our one appetizer. The food was...okay. I was excited to try some of the new menu options but cost to flavor it just was...okay. I loved the flavors of the anchovy toast but the bread was limply toasted, I would have loved more of a crunch to carry the toppings. The other dishes were decent, the cannoli was delicious, but again, rating value to flavor, I hate to say it, but there are a number of nearby restaurants I would recommend over Pascolo.
1 st time and it was good. Nothing special but fine. We sat outside in the warm weather but the interior is pretty unique & we look forward to experiencing it in cooler months. Pasta was fine, caesar was great, and I just think there's a lot of better wood fired pizzas around Burlington. So happy they have house red and white wines. Nobody seems to do this anymore. Easy and affordable.
This restaurant exceeded expectations, the service was great, they were so nice and attentive, the atmosphere was beautiful and elegant but the food OMG the food was excellent. Everything came out quickly and it was hot and delicious. This place is 3 hours from my hometown but I will make it a purpose to visit at least once a yr, especially with the atmosphere around Main st Burlington and waterfront park which both are beautiful. I can't say enough about this place and we're restaurant people!
The BEST Italian meal I've had other than my wife's Sicilian grandmother's . Everything was excellent! The calamari was light golden brown and tender. We also got marinated olives . For entrees we had chicken marsala with polenta, and gnocchi with Italian sausage. The pasta is homemade and excellent! We also got a side of meatballs. Tasted like the ones my wife makes. Sauce is not overpowering and the meatballs were tender, not a hard ball of meat. Marissa was our server. She was very friendly and kept checking back on us. If you're in Burlington and want outstanding Italian food, you need to go to Pascolo!
Pascolo's in Burlington is definitely the best Italian food that I've had in Vermont. Not by a little, but by Giant amount. Plus, the people that work here are super friendly. If you haven't eaten here, just stop being stupid and make a reservation right now. Our waitress, Anna, was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and offered opinions because she eats the food regularly. I asked her to make a couple of choices for what ways to take the food and everything was incredible. She also offered alternatives based on hearing what we were discussing about what was offered. I couldn't have asked for better service. The prices are medium to high but for the quality of food that you're getting, as well as the portions, you are not going to be disappointed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice as well. I'm not a big fan of being right by the kitchen but some people like that. It's a beautiful, sprawling, lower level layout and I loved every bit of it.
It is hit or miss on some of the menu items. The calamari was a 10/10 one day, but maybe a 6/10 on the next two visits. It has a professional and clean atmosphere with overall better quality food than most Italian restaurants in Burlington.
I experienced this restaurant on a Wednesday night, being in town unexpectedly for a work related task. It was relatively busy, especially at the bar, where I ate, being a single person. The food was really good, just shy of being great, the wine by the glass was good but overpriced. The Pistachio gelato was absolutely out of this world. And the Tiramisu I took home for later was outstanding too. When I was first seated there were two servers behind the bar and I was greeted and initial service and food ordering was done promptly and in a friendly manner. Then one of the servers left for other assigned tasks and the remaining younger server couldn't keep up. I waited over 15 minutes for a refill on wine and water. Slightly more attentive service would have resulted in 5 's
was in between several choices for the pasta and ended with the smoked mushroom pappardelle on recommendation and they did not steer me wrong. Creamy, smoky, cheesy. So tasty. I would go back and have a hard time not getting the same dish. For drink I had the whiskey and wine cocktail which is basically a New York sour and was simple yet delicious served with a large cube of ice. I was in town on a long layover and had numerous places to choose from and I’m glad this is where I ended up. It’s worth a visit!
Went here on recommendation from a coworker. I got eggplant parmesan and a kale salad on the side. It was a good meal that like most pasta was better when reheated the next day. However, service was super slow. We got an apology for the slow service as our meals arrived but our server never updated us during the wait. I wanted to order another drink and get dessert but I was afraid it would take too long. Not worth a second visit from me but if you like Italian food it's not a bad place to try minus the wait which was hopeful just a fluke.
Avery beautiful Italian fine dining experience. We had made reservations in advance. We started off with a Von Trapp Pilsner and Ginger Ale. This was followed by Focassia with Pesto, Fried Mozzarella and Brussels Sprouts. For main course we had Pappardelle with Mushrooms and a Margherita Pizza. The grand finale was the Tiramisu. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.
