My daughter and I went for decorations. They had a good selection for our theme. The woman at the front was very nice and super helpful! I had no idea there was a customer washroom in the back which these days is essential as I am due in 2 weeks and there's not a lot of room for baby & my bladder lol. I had further questions, and she answered every single one in detail. I really do like this location and would definitely recommend it. I've never had a bad experience here. Thank you!
I had a very heartwarming shopping experience today at 29 William Kitchen, and I am very grateful to Fariba. She patiently helped me choose a gift box. Even though there is no gift-wrapping service here, I asked if she could help me wrap the gift, and she readily agreed. She told me that customers walk in happily, and she hopes we walk out happily as well. She refused my tip, and I want to say thank you, Fariba, for a very warm shopping experience.
Gonna throw the first birthday party for my little one. So we have been looking for some decorations and party supplies.nnIt was my first time going inside the Party City located near Kennedy Road / Hwy 401.nnIt’s conveniently located. There is also a Dollarama nearby, so we can shop around and check out the different options.nnUpon going into Party City, we were wowed by all the balloons. My girl was really excited of course.nnThe price at party city was overall quite affordable. They have organized the party themes by cartoon characters e.g. frozen, Mario brothers etc, by special ages baby shower/1st birthday/16th birthday etc - which is very helpful.nnThere are also some good selections by occasions - Easter, Eid, upcoming Canada day etc. And also all the utensils by color themes.nnI also find it nice that I can get all the different series of kinder surprise eggs e.g. Minnie Mouse, frozen, paw patrol etcnnOne highlight is that you can get helium tanks there. They come in 2 sizes. Of course you can also get helium balloons there.nnTips: it takes a bit of time to fill the helium balloons and if they only have 1 counter open to serve that customer who’s buying helium balloons, even they have a few staffs at the counter area they wouldn’t jump in to serve… you should expect to wake for a longer time in queue.nnThe staffs are quite friendly.
I stopped over at party city On Saturday March 23rd 2024 around 4:55 pm. I entered Kennedy Commons Party City to purchase a wig for a costume party I had later that evening. I walked in while I was on the phone with AirPods in and went straight into the first aisle to look at the pink wigs. I was wearing a black tote bag on my shoulder that contained my wallet, keys, laptop, lunch bag and spare clothes I had for work. As I walked further into the aisle and chatted on the phone with my friend, I noticed a sales clerk staring at me from around the corner looking me up and down. At first I thought I was being too loud as I was on the phone with my best friend at the time trying to figure out what wig to purchase. After grabbing one from the shelf I put it on I didn't know at the time this was against store policy and wanted to make sure it fit. It did and as I was about to make my way to the front to complete my purchase but then I was verbally ACCOSTED in an extremely aggressive tone that made me second guess what was even going on. At first I didn't even understand what was happening because she was so hostile right out of the gate. The store employee I now know as Marion started to berate me for having a large bag and not leaving it at the front of the store with complete strangers while my personal belongings were inside wallet, keys, laptop and that I should have read the signs posted at the front of the store. I told her I didn't see the sign and that my personal belongings will not be left unattended by me. She then started to become aggressive and made many micro aggressive and racist comments like “you people need to read the signs properly, you can't be in this aisle with a bag like that” and made me feel very scared, uncomfortable and humiliated because there were other shoppers beginning to look at me. I told her I wouldn't leave my bag with her and then she proceeded to tell me I could no longer be in the store if I did not comply with her rules. She made sure that she walked me towards the front of the store and then I saw multiple customers with bags including a white girl with a brown tote bag on her shoulder. I pointed out to Marion that it was okay for that white customer to have a big bag but when it came to me it wasn't. She scoffed and walked towards me and told me I had to go. I have spent hundreds of dollars at this party city over the years as it is the closest one to my home in Scarborough. I have never ever had such a DEGRADING, RACIST, HUMILIATING experience like this in a very very long time. As a black woman in this world I have had multiple experiences where I have been racial profiled, this is just one example. It may seem trivial but this experience is not only exhausting but it is so deeply painful. This company must work HARD to train these employees and not uphold behavior like this because it is not okay. EVER.
Fariba is so calm, patient and kind. 5 star customer service. Thank you for making feel calm and finding affordable and practical solutions.
