I met with Nikki on a Friday at 3pm for an hour consultation on a new business that I'm creating. I'm a complete noob and she was very generous with her advice on how to approach taxes for my new software consultancy. It's going to be a one man show for now, and she suggested I operate as a sole proprietor until the types of clients I work with, or my income (or both) create higher exposure. Incorporating as an LLC or S-Corporation before then wasn't advisable. This makes sense and I was happy that she didn't try to push me in any one direction. She remained unbiased and walked me through the pros and cons of operating as a proprietor, LLC, or S-corporation. I had a laundry list of questions like "what counts as a tax deduction", "how much should I be setting aside from every invoice for tax purposes", "how to handle bookkeeping" and she answered them all very thoroughly. So, as someone who is starting a new business, I highly recommend speaking with Nikki. She'll answer your questions thoroughly and will set you at ease about the fun (cough cough) part of starting a business!
