Great service, good food and nice portions. Go for breakfast, you'll enjoy it!
Came here with my kiddos and father for breakfast. The service was great and the food was AMAZING! It’s a quaint little place. The menu is surprisingly large. We sampled everything from biscuits and gravy to omelets, pancakes and waffles. Probably the best omelette I’ve ever had and the kids said the same about their pancakes, waffles and eggs. Good portions in a friendly and intimate environment. We will be back!
Very disappointing. My mom and her husband have been coming to Natalie’s for well over a year, maybe even two at this point. Over that time, she had made comments to me about how good it is, that it’s their favorite restaurant and that she wants to take me there sometime. Due to me living a good distance away, I never had the chance to go. Until today, when we were both in the area and she wanted to treat me for my birthday. When we arrived, the staff immediately recognized my mom and asked if her husband was joining and she said “Nope, just my daughter and I!” The young waitress took our order and gave me a confused look when I asked what was on their burger. Not a strange question, in my mind. We get our food: mushroom burger, fries, onion rings, hash browns and an Italian beef. Everything was amazing until I got to my burger. I took two bites and told my mom “This has a fishy taste to it”. She said I should tell the waitress and ask for something else, I said it’s okay and I’ll deal with it. She said “no. Tell her” and she flagged the waitress down and stated it tasted like fish. Immediately the owner rushed to our table and we again stated it tasted like fish. Her immediate response was “We don’t have fish here”. I responded “I’m not saying you do, I’m saying it tastes like fish”. She whispered a comment to the waitress and the waitress took my new order, leaving the burger in front of me, still. The new order came and the owner had taken over as our waitress. She came back and refilled my drink and asked if we needed boxes. My mom commented to me “That’s good, she’s trying to make it right” Our bill came and our total was roughly $50. My mom asked “Did you take the burger off?” The owner replied “No, we took nothing off. Our chef said there’s no fish” and she looked me right in the eyes, gave me a smirk and stated “I believe my chef over anyone” and I responded “I have no reason to lie”. My mom wrote on the receipt “I believe my daughter over anyone : will never return” Because the owner failed to take constructive criticism, make things right, Comp the burger that had two bites taken out of it, and made snarky comments insinuating I am a liar, she has lost long term customers. Their menu states they have Friday fish fry, yet she told us they do not have fish there. After doing further research, we have found that mushrooms give off a fishy taste when they are bad/old. Everything else was delicious, except the burger, which was the only thing that had mushrooms on it. It’s very unfortunate when an owners ego trumps their desire to make a customer satisfied. Customers should never feel guilty for saying something doesn’t taste right and absolutely should not be gaslighted by staff or the owner. Shame on the owner and waitress who did not defend her customers and allowed us to still be charged for something we didn’t eat. Quite frankly, I don’t know if that’s even legal. Proceed with caution when dining here. I had every intention in bringing my family here and driving the 45 minutes to do so. Never will any of us step foot in that restaurant. *EDITED* to respond to the owners comment: I should NEVER have to ask for an unwanted food item to be removed from me. Any restaurant with even the most minimal training, would tell you when a guest does not like an item, it is to be immediately removed. That is waitress training 101, coming from someone who previously worked in a restaurant and could never imagine handling it the way you did. Unfortunate that you are unable to comment on refusing to remove the burger from the bill, when it had two bites taken from it, simply because you didn’t believe me and refusing to take responsibility for this negative situation. It’s very apparent you do not care. Sad!
First time dining at this cute little local Cafe. Quick service by the owner who was so warm & welcoming. Their breakfast menu had a wide variety of choices along w/several daily specials & prices were super affordable! Will definitely be returning.
Stopped for a quick lunch, and am so glad I did! The servers are extremely pleasant and I cannot say enough about the food. The Chicken Rossini soup is definitely one of the best soups I have ever tasted. Will be back.
Natalie is amazing! She is friendly and all of her staff is incredible as well!
My first visit. I love eating at a place like this and thank the owner and staff for making it possibleFood: 5/5
My wife and I have been breakfast dining at Natalie's for about two years and have become known on sight. The food is delicious! Too many establishments over salt or serve greasy unappetizing fare. Natalie's is a very refreshing change. Additionally, they have a wide array of breakfast and lunch meals no dinners that will invariably please the diner. Perhaps one of the more charming aspects of Natalie's is that the staff actually know you and greet you with genuine smiles as a returning member of the family. Drop into Natalie's. I am sure you will be pleased.
If I could give no stars I would. Horrible customer experience. My husband and I have been loyal customers at Natalie's...we loved their food and overall had good customer experience, until today. I brought my daughter there for her birthday. I was so excited to bring her to my favorite Cafe. My daughter, ordered the mushroom Swiss burger, when she took a couple bites of it she said, "the burger tastes kind of fishy." She did not want to complain but, I insisted she get something different because I wanted her to enjoy her experience; after all I am her mom and want her to have a nice birthday. I did not know if something was bad with the burger or with the mushrooms. When mushrooms get old and bad they can have a fishy taste to them. Read more about mushrooms going bad online. I asked the waitress, to get us a French dip, the owner came up and said tersley, "There is no fish here." She lied because they have Friday fish fry and have fish sandwiches on their menu. They never took the burger away they left it on the table. At the end of our meal the owner, Natalie brought me the check. The mushroom Swiss burger was not taken off the bill. She said, " I trust my chef above all else." I left the message on my receipt, "I trust my daughter above all else. Poor customer service. I will not be back." What gain does my daughter have to lie? We both were looking forward to a great experience. I have serious concerns for the owners lack of ability to think they are above making mistakes...WE ARE ALL HUMAN AND NOONE IS ABOVE ERROR. Make sure you like their food because they will not show good customer service if you don't; they are extremely defensive to constructive criticism and missed an opportunity to learn. They will now miss me and my husband' praise and money we bring to their cafe. They may not care now but, they will if more people have a similar experience. Maybe that is why there is always available seating there at noon because they have upset many. Lastly, be careful with their food, if something does not taste right send it back; regardless of their push back. I hope my daughter does not get sick from eating something;; possibly bad mushrooms. Good customer service is not always because everything went great, it is when the owners can recognize they are not perfect and will make it right. That is the kind of businesses that will get our money. Post response...Where is it listed on your menu that if I do not request for the food to be taken from the table that you have a right to charge me? This is highly manipulating. In my 17 years of restraunant business I have never had a response like yours. This is bad business and sadly by your response you will not learn from this. Hopefully noone will treat you this way when you take your children out for their birthday or some other special occasion but, if it does then you will know the disappointment I experienced.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch here with extended family. Varied menu choices in a family owned diner setting. A refreshing break from the overload of national chains in this area. They serve large portions, I took half of my delicious Italian roast beef sandwich home to enjoy later. Planning to visit again this weekend when more family comes to visit! Friendly efficient service by owners who take great pride in their business . . and it shows!
