Dirty blue baskets, they are never cleaned since the depot was bought out, the trolleys are liquidly sticky and gross. The staff clearly are just doing a job, they don’t really care. Not a smile in the place or even a hi. They grab the returns soo very quickly that I am not sure how accurate they are. At least i got rid of my cans. Next time I’ll donate to the Rotary Club.
Pretty good. First time there. People are just doing their job, so don’t expect amazing service or anything. They don’t take milk jugs or cartons, you put those in your blue bin at home. 9 trays per day, one visit per day. You sort it all yourself. Bring gloves.
We recently moved to Parksville, so my rating is tainted by the much more efficient service provided in other recycling depots.nnComparing it to Courtenay, I suggest it is not as clean or organized, nor are the employees as engaged.nnThere us absolutely no comparison to Sherwood Park, Alberta where you simply dump your bag on the stainless steel table and the worker slides the bottles according to size and type into an automatic machine that processes and counts them at the same time. You scan the ticket, pick up your money or donate it to charity. No need to handle sticky bottles, no flies or wasps to fight off.....
I assume based on service that the place is under new ownership, service in the back was non existent a couple of weeks ago, no one was around to direct me to which white empty unlabelled bin to put my various things. So it was eeny meeny miney mo. Disgraceful !!!
I have been volunteering to recycle companies donating their bottles to the Parksville Lions. Over 3 years and the employees have always been very helpful and love the music.nKeep up the good work. I will say this there are many regular recyclers are happy to have a recycling depo.
