I grew up coming here. The vibe feels like you are in the 1950s. Authentic barbecue. If you’re not familiar with North Carolina barbecue, it’s very vinegary, so just beware if that’s not something you’re use to. I personally find it absolutely delicious. Their fried chicken is amazing and so juicy. Good portions, cheap prices. And just to be wear you cannot pay with any sort of debit or credit card. Cash or check only!
My first visit, truly the home experience, the seating time was immediate, food delivered quickly. The wait staff very courteous and promptly offered to refill the empty dishes. Parker’s is well worth the short drive off I-95. Just true classic eastern, North Carolina barbecue.Parker’s coleslaw reminds me of Bob Meltons Cole Slaw . The Hush Puppies are fresh and Hot or try the Corn Sticks . Fall reminds me of Parker’s Fresh Brunswick stew it’s a meal in its self. If your tired of the same old burger joints along I 95 take some time and have a relaxing drive to Parker’s BBQ
I don't plan to return. It's a well known and popular restaurant. From what I saw. It's a no for me. Trays of uncooked and prep chick setting out. A health code violation in my mind. The bathroom looks like they are on a plantation. If I hadn't seen things with my own eyes. I would believe it.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
I plan to never eat here. Look closely at my photos. There are trays of chicken setting out with the bugs flying around the restaurant. It was a painful experience. Most definitely health code violations. A friend asked me to stop to pick him up some barbecue. The bathrooms were horrible.
ADDING TO TOP BECAUSE WE FORGOT! It's CASH ONLY!!!! My husband and I had our first date here 7 years ago. We went back a few weeks ago. Parker's has perfected the Eastern NC style of BBQ, family style, their fried chicken is always so good and the corn bread sticks are the things dreams are made of! I asked for specifics waiters because they are FarmVille boys and they obliged but everyone came to check on us. We even got to sit at the table we sat in the first time! We ate family style and waddled out with our bellies full. We don't live near Wilson anymore it was halfway for us originally so it was a special treat to go back.

This place is an awesome old school BBQ joint..excellent service, excellent food all done up in a family friendly environment. Don't hesitate..find a parking place and get yourself inside!
I’m being nice with this 2 star rating! Please excuse the hype! This place might be crowded but the food is terrible. No seasoning AT ALL from the fried fish to the green beans. The ONLY thing with flavor was the NASTY cold slaw that tastes like pure VINEGAR & MUSTARD I’m completely disappointed and it saddens me to write this but the people MUST KNOW! The hush puppies are OKAY
This is exactly what you’d expect from a local bbq institution. There’s a little bit of a feeling that you walked back in time as you enter and order. The place is full of locals. Don’t be put off by the mustard slaw - the taste isn’t too strong.
