Beautiful place, clean water lake, with well preserved nature around. All their equipment is brand new canoes, kayaks, etc, which is good. Our camp site was well organized, with two picnic tables, a toilet... only the fire pit was way too small, all the air holes got suck with lots of previous ashes, and we had to do the cleaning... About the lake, beware of windy days as everywhere with canoes, as it is long and sided by and elevations, it can funnel and get pretty rough. We had a bit of a scare, but the park support team was awesome and went after one of our canoes that couldn't make to the shore. Suggestion to management: water and ice delivery currently it is just burning wood... yeah I know we can just bring food that does not require ice, bring water filters, etc... nonetheless, it would improve the experience.
Beautiful place! Camping there is really nice especially because they do not overrent the area. Just be careful about the mosquitoes until August! :
I went there twice and the first time, I had an amazing experience. The second time, they called me at noon when I was almost there, that due to the weather situation, you cannot go to the island, but you have an option to camp on the park. I camp there for two night in a campsite without a fire pit and proper access to water. After that I called them for the refund for the kayak and campsite and after more than a month, they have not returned the fee for the canoe and kayak, even though I could not use it. They were not responsive over the phone. I'd not recommend to book your canoe in advance since the chance that it will be get cancelled is very high.
Very nice place for a vacation or just having a good time with friends, very calm and peacefull and some awesome sights
Somewhat lesser known park with a gorgeous lake/reservoir. Great place to escape the bustle of more "popular" parks while still being quite accessible.
Easily one of the most beautiful rustic campgrounds I've ever been to. The lake is beautiful; the entire place is incredibly peaceful. You can see the entire Milky Way on a clear night. The campgrounds are well-maintained and the canoe rentals in great condition. A real hidden gem.
Stayed at the barrage sector. Beautiful location. Very peaceful. 500km of ATV and motocross trails all the way around the lake. Clean waters. Nice spot to take a break from technology. They do not over book the area which is very nice.
Beautiful and wild - a must if you love real camping!
Beautiful place overall, and I would highly recommend. The only negative was there seemed to be no one working on weekdays. We asked the day prior at what time the staff working at the kayak rental booth would show up, he said 9am. We showed up around 9:30am, he was not there. Came back at noon, still not there. Other people were looking for him too.
For nature, wild life and tranquility lovers.
