First time coming to Gatineau Park, and I only visited Pink Lake. It was really beautiful and fun to hike with family and friends. It's a shame though that a lot of the trees are still green and you can't full enjoy those Fall colours, despite it being mid-October. I would give it a couple more weeks if you're planning on visiting this Fall to see the magical colours
Really nice trail. 66 connects to the Gatineau park pathway, 67 and 5. You can get to Pioneer Trail, Lac des Fees pathway. Great hike. Note that wild leeks are endangered and should not be picked.nnThere's a wide variety of wildlife you might be fortunate enough to see. About as many cyclists as hikers.nnThere are some inclines, but nothing too difficult for kids. I'd suggest leaving the stroller at home, however, especially if you go off the paved trails. There are not much in the way of rest areas along the trail itself, though there is the occasional parking lot.nnAt the end of April there were only as handful of areas that were hard to cross on account of wet/muddy conditions.
Really loved visiting the park. Open from 12 PM. Lot of spots in between the routes. Trials, estates, look-out spots, lakes, etc. It's worth spending a few hours over there. It's perfect in summer and fall. A few minutes drive from ottawa downtown. You can get the bus service from the starting point through the park. Pink lake and lookout spots were my favorite. I have noticed many people cycling along the path. Its a perfect spot for them too.
Pink lake was absolutely beautiful- slightly populated but everyone kept their distance. Love all the stairs and watching the fish in the water! The parking lot is closed but we found another route in- highly recommended looking at the trail system map before going and having a “back up plan”
Amazing place for walking, hiking, biking and exploring. There are free shuttles in the weekends during the summer and the fall from Ottawa area! Which is so cool for people without cars. I visited here in first week of october 2022 using the shuttle. Had a great view from the Champlain point and a good hike to Lac Meech. The place is really beautiful during the autumn. There are lot of places around to explore. The place is so vast that everything can't be covered in one day. There are lots of parking spots close to various viewpoints/ trails and also washroom accessibility. It is recommended to carry some food and water. There aren't any food kiosks inside. You can either drive very close to the viewpoints or take a hike along the trails if you are feeling adventurous. It is definitely a must visit and multiple visit-worthy place if you are around the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
