I want to say Mr. Paquette and his wonderful team are great people. They help you out big time. They get you the best results and generate results. Mr. Paquette himself spends time with you and takes your input very seriously. I recommend everyone to look into his credentials. He is one of the best lawyers in Ontario when it comes to Criminal Defence.

I was falsely charged with sexual assault a few years ago, another victim of the Helena Russell (Pereira) case manufacturing machine, and hired Mr. Paquette after the initial consultation assured my wife and I that the charges were nonsense and ridiculous. We gave him $10,000 and let him prepare my defense, he set up a pre-trial hearing, questioned my accusers with restraint but demonstrated beyond any doubt that the charges boiled down to 3 passive cheek kisses and a disgruntled employee with a long criminal history who made up a story that fell apart the second she answered the first question. I came away from that day confident that a trial would avail greater opportunity to expose the obsurdity of the charges and the coersion officer Rusell used to assemble charges aimed at restoring credibility among her superiors after being implicated in an inappropriate sexual encounter with another female officer. The police department later withdrew the allegations laid against her after a year of investigations. She's been in the news for more misconduct as a police officer lately. At any rate, Mr.Paquette called me into his office a few days after the pre-trial to dicuss the trial. I informed him, from day one, that I would not plead guilty to any crime I had not committed under any circumstances. The first issue during our meeting was the cost of a trial, he informed us that he would need anothr $50,000 to take the case to trial, this is on top of the $20,000 we had given him to date. I informed him that we did not have the money and I would have to get legal aid to continue with his services. His demeanour changed from that moment on. He stated he would dicuss the case with the crown attorney and get back to me. Several weeks went by when we met again in his office, he informed me that since we could not afford to pay him the additional $50K he had been offered a withdrawal of any sexual assault charges to 2 charges of assault for 2 of the 3 cheek kisses in the original charges. Although I still believe the charges were manufactured by Russell, I did admitted to kissing them on the cheek, I accepted the offer thinking it would be a simple case of a valuable lesson learned about the hyper- sensitivity of some women to something as innocent as what I did. Instead I found myself in front of a judge listening to the crown reading of wildly exaggerated account of the alleged assaults which were supposed to have been withdrawn. I plead guilty to the 2 simple assault charges and received probation but my wife and I walked out of the courthouse in shock and bewilderment. I would caution anyone looking for criminal law defense attorneys as I have been forever and irreparably damaged by my experience.
