Very interesting french bistro, but with a twist that changes the quality/variety of the cuisine, kind of a fusion, it is to experience the different flavors and nice presentation of dishes, very friendly/welcoming staff, good attention, it is on the side of a gourmet restaurant, but it is worth to try it. Cozy environment and vibe. The beef tartare was really good. Recommended.
This is a cute French bistro style restaurant to try! We had the beef tartar, the miso-butter with shiitake pasta, and the vegetable cream soup with bacon bits and salmon eggs. The service was a bit slow, but quite understandable considering there was only one waitress when we arrived. Overall, each meal was a delight, the ambiance was cozy and the place was big enough to accommodate groups of 5-6 people.
Bright and welcoming space, with good French bistro food. I loved the foie and the pepper paste that came in the zucchini salad. The bread pudding was to die for. The deer tataki was good, but the marinade was too strong and overwhelmed the gaminess of the meat. The staff was friendly. The tables were crammed too close together, and they were small.
Lovely place with a laid back atmosphere. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to get immediate seating at the bar. The drinks were wonderful and everything we ordered was delicious. We had great and attentive service from the bartender and all the other staff. Plus it was fun watching the bartender make all the interesting cocktails! I added a picture of the octopus with mushroom and eggplant that we had.
It was time to visit for brunch, so we made sure that we booked and arrived on time. After a short wait we were shown to corner table in the sun. The menu was original with some interesting options as well as cocktails. Our orders were taken and were all set. Then we waited. Meanwhile, the music was too loud and as we waited for the food was becoming more irritating... The music really didn't fit with the French bistro vibe either. Eventually the cooked dishes arrived, but no bread or coffee. I ordered the scrambled eggs, which came with sausages and pulled pork. Nicely presented and tasty but the size of the portion was on the small side. Eventually the bread arrived, but by this time i had more or less finished the eggs - and still no sign of the coffee. Eventually the coffee arrived but by then we had both finished the food and the coffee order was incorrect, but corrected without any problem. The restaurant seemed to be under-staffed with just two servers in the dining area, and one person visible in the kitchen. This showed in the time to get the food and also the mistake with the coffee order. Anyway, I doubt that we will return. It's a shame because I was looking forward to our visit. If you decide to visit then I hope you have a better experience!
Cool new place on Wellington street. The decor is classic french bistro style, but with a modern twist. We had a seat at the marble bar. Friendly service from the gang behind the bar. We tried a bunch of small plates, all of them were great. The sauvagine tartiflette was rich and creamy, the shiitake linguini was umami heaven, the tartare was well balanced. Nice choice of wine. Great atmosphere. A bit pricey - 5 bucks for two slices of bread with butter, but quality was there.
Each of the tapas-style dishes that I tried were bursting with unique flavours. Just delicious! They even have several menu items that they can make vegan, but unfortunately they just remove some of the ingredients, so you're getting less food for the same price, without the protein. Most of the options are just water-heavy vegetables. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny. I'd recommend this restaurant for drinks and light snacks during a 5 à 7, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a filling meal. Commentaire pour la direction: Ça vaudrait la peine d'identifier les portes des salles de bain et d'y ajouter un miroir.
For me it's a 8 out of 10. Mainly because of the food. Honestly I've seen some comments here that are so rough I'm thinking they're fake. It's NOT a bad restaurant, and if you're willing to pay more than St-hubert you should get a meal there. The location is great, the drinks are good, service is great... if you can't have a good time there it's probably your fault. I'd suggest you getting reservation though, on a rainy Tuesday night at 8 it was full, not packed but no tables were left. Service took 2 hours more or less. Service: amazing service, nothing bad to say she was so great, cocktail did took a little longer than expected, but the barman got too many orders at the same time, can't blame him. Ambiance : great too, the place is just very nice and trendy without feeling pretentious. Cute music, cute ambiance. Drinks: small selection but they're great and not too pricey still not cheap tho 13$-18$ ! The wine selection is very very nice. Food: Heirloom tomatoes with melon special By far the star of my whole meal. Leeks with the orange emulsion: also VERY good. Solid choice without a doubt. Balanced and a very original mix. Harimasa with the green vinaigrette: my boyfriend enjoyed it very much, I was not a fan particularly; it was good but I didn't fight to finish the plate kind of. Linguine: the thing that made me remove a star I'm sorry it was SO salty I took one bite and could not finish it; for me it was too much. Maybe this was a one time thing, but I won't be taking this plate ever again. Bread: I mean, it's bread... It was warm a bit, and good. The portion of truffle butter given is extremely small for 4 slices. the equivalent of those butter portion in a plastic cup you get at a diner, one of them. For 5 bucks, meh. Dessert: Pain de Gênes: not too sweet, well balanced, honestly an excellent finale. I'd recommend. All and all we had an excellent night and I'll go back for sure. Vegetarian options: Some options for vegan maybe one or two out of the full menu, but a vegetarian could find their fill.
Paname was recommended for brunch and did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, although they were only two or three in front of house, everything was fast! Music was great if you like old hip hop and you should, and the food was delicious. Small menu, but everything looked great coming out of the kitchen. I got the Eggs Benny, my friend had the eggs cocotte. We both aldo ordered a side roti et sausage. The Benny was perfect, not overly saucy, I was unsure of the pickled mustard incorporated but the flavour was incredible. A lot of the plates seemed good for sharing, and it’s one of the few restos open for brunch that take reservations- a huge plus for me! Will definitely be coming back to try their dinner menu
The restaurant is really cute, well located and the decor is great. The concept of French tapas is really good and the prices are fair. I really wanted to like it and had high expectations for the place. Bistros are rare in Verdun so I was looking forward to it. The menu seems really appetizing on paper, but the dishes simply aren't flavourful. A lot of attention is placed on presentation, colours and plating, but the food itself is underwhelming. I tried most of the plates with the exception of two or three. I unfortunately wouldn't recommend any of them except for the beet salad and the tartiflette. I will not be heading back to this restaurant until there are updates to the menu, unfortunately.
