Palm Beach Regional Park

One of the nicest beaches with open space for families to hang out a whole day. Even has a small playground, benches, covered area for picnics. Highly recommended for young families or big groups

Had an amazing time walking the beach and staring out on the ocean. Great views of distant islands on the horizon. Also a treat if you like hiking on the rocks!

Perhaps I shouldn't be stating this publicly but two of the best beaches on the mainland coast lie 1,500 metres apart, about 18 kilometres south of Powell River. One is Palm Beach, easily accessible from the park and the other is Mahood's Beach, a little closer to town. Both are relatively safe, sandy spots, suitable for the entire family. It might just be the nostalgia talking but it was better back in "my day". There are significantly more people living nearby now, making it a busier beach. There's not all that much real estate to stand on, on account of all the washed up logs so you are liable to be right next to someone on any given day. It seems like a fair few trees have been removed to make room for the adjacent housing, which takes away from the ambiance of the park, and the new play equipment doesn't hold a candle to the old stuff built from logs. Also there used to be a big metal roundabout there, truly a loss. That said, if you've never been, you'll still have a good time and it's worth going to. Like all other things in life, it has simply undergone some change.

I love this beach. I take my daughter here when I’m near by. Brings back a lot of good memories. Bathrooms are open into October at least. Great view from the beach with lots of near stuff for children like driftwood and rocks

Beautiful and clean sandy beach in low tide located next to huge green space ideal for large groups or families with young kids. There is a small playground, lots of benches and a picnic shelter. Such clear water. A must see! Sand only visible during low tide.

Beautiful open ocean view with plenty of space for long walks on the beach, there is a large field, covered area to eat and a park for the kids. The outhouse and washrooms are kept in good condition, the beach is kept clean and there is full access all year round with some large events taking place on occasion.

Such a gorgeous spot on the beach. Not many "palms" around, but at low tide, the sand is squishy and fun to play in...must be lots of clams there.

I love this beach for the expansive view and the pockets of sand to relax on. The playground makes the little ones happy. It's a nice beach to walk and explore from one end to another. There are quite a few residences but it still feels very much available to everyone. The estuary is a bird magnet. Enjoy and please take care of this beach.
