Absolutely Love The View Of The River From The Paddle Wheel Inn! Our Room Was Very Clean And Comfy! Included A Microwave, Small Refrigerator, and Recliner Along With The Desk, Entertainment Center, Small Table with 2 Chairs and The Bed! Only Downfall Would be The View Is On The Parking Lot Side and Shower Is Small But That Is Explained In the Pricing! Very Friendly and Knowledgable Staff!! Perfect Getaway!

Nice hotel very clean. Shower was nice but the shower head looked like something from the 70s. Talked with them in the morning and they were more than happy to get that info. Very kind guy. Beds weren't the best in comfort and the one pillow I had was feeling way over used and clumpy. Beautiful view of the Rock. Lighting was a little under what I would have liked at night but I like my light. I would recommend.

View was beautiful. Rooms were outdated. TV was tiny. Staff was very friendly.

Awful experience. I am working from out of town so had to find a place to stay for a week at a time. I did not do enough research into too many places, so it was a quick decision to stay here. The very first night I was there, I woke up around 1 a.m. to bugs crawling on my face, pillows and bed. I panicked and grabbed a few pictures of the bugs and even a video. Went to desk with my pillow to show them, but no one is there between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. I called an emergency locked out of room number they had, and the owner came in. Switched my room, and told me sorry but it happens. I didn't say much, just took 3 showers that night and kept tossing and turning because I couldn't get the idea of bugs on my face, out of my head. I had no problems after in the new room for the following two nights. They did not offer any compensation or to wash my clothes. I didn't pursue and gave them another chance. The next week I came in and they gave me a room that had a little bigger bed for a better rate because of the bed bugs. I said thank you. Slept in it for a night, and didn't wake up to bugs. I woke up with a couple bug bites but thought nothing of it. Sometimes that happens. The following night, I woke up at 4 a.m. with bites all over my arms and legs and neck. I'm talking over a hundred. I went in to work. I had to go to the nurse and they gave me benadryl, tried to evaluate my problem but sent me to the doctor after work. I went to Rockford at a prompt care and she said I am having a reaction from bug bites. She diagnosed me, prescribed me medication, and when I got back to the hotel I explained it to the lady who was working. She was very nice and offered to wash my clothes and move me to a different room. At this point it's close to night, and I decided ok I will move rooms. I went to my new room after giving her all my clothes, and went to get into the shower. There was a knock at the door and I was in a towel, but answered the door. She proceeded to tell me the manager was kicking me out of the hotel and giving my money back for the week. Just in case I was the one bringing the bugs into the hotel. I have never in my entire life, had beg bugs. I am what people consider a germaphobe. I have never been so embarrassed and upset at the same time. I explained to the blonde haired lady that I know it's not her call, and I don't know what to say. I was speechless. The manager herself had told me they had bed bugs 3 times before. She thought it might be from some people who come I town for the races. I ran into a man in the lobby who had been there for a little while himself. He too, had bed bugs in his room. TWICE! I was going to move hotels the next day anyways, but kicking me out that night, after the day I had, and treating me like I was the problem, has me very upset and believe I will take legal action for them to cover my medical costs. After I found out about the guy in the lobby, I went to look at some reviews. 4 bed bug reviews for the paddle wheel in Oregon Illinois. I will be posting pictures of my bites wherever I can to let people know.
