Nice little dumpling place, warm welcome by the staff, dishes look very nice , the taste is there, steamed dumplings were on the dry side, pan ones were perfect, chicken wings were cooked but not enough to get the inside bones hot. 1 or 2 minutes more in deep fry will help solve that issue. Will go try again in few weeks to see if they improved. Cheers!!
New opening this week. Pork and pickled cabbage dumplings had a lovely flavour, however a few felt undercooked on the dough side and the pickle tang that I crave and love was not consistently present in every dumpling. The XLB soup dumplings lamb and cumin had an awesome deep flavoured broth and plenty of it inside. 30 bucks for two, including tip. One thing to note, this place takes longer to put the dumplings in front of you but it is seems they are making it to order and probably working through the kinks of their soft opening. Definitely one to try if you love dumplings as much as I do.
P23 Dumplingsnew opening. Nice ambiance, Great host, Great food. My favorite: Shanghai dumplings Xiao Long Bao, juicy and great taste. Many other choices and flavors. Value for money. Worth a try..
Ordered dumplings for take out while visiting. Loved them! The cumin and curry dumplings are so yummy. I've had similar at other places but these were extra good. Now that I'm home and dreaming of their dumplings I think about how I might be inspired by theirs to make some at home. Get the pan fried, the texture contrast is the trick! Got to many we had them for lunch the next day. Very affordable and when you consider the love and labor that goes into making them, you need to spend some money here!
This place opened a bit before the COVID-19 lockdown in Montreal. They have since reopened and offer takeout services. Their menu features a lot of different dumplings, potstickers, Xiao Long Bao at very reasonable price. The quality of the food is great and everything that I’ve tried was very delicious. The service is also very friendly, and they have the option to mix up to 3 sorts of dumplings per serving, which is great if you like trying new things. So, if you’re in Outremont and love dumplings, make sure to stop by and try their stuff. There are plenty of parks nearby where you can enjoy their food, while it’s still hot. And it only takes about 15 minutes to get the order ready. EDIT: After visiting this place regularly for over a year I decided to update my review. While I still love their food, I realized that lately they were lacking consistency often on same orders. For example sometimes the dumplings are well crimped, sometimes they come out opened. The appetizers taste different from time to time. Soup is sometimes flavorful and hot, sometimes watered down and barely warm. This is the only drawback that I see so far. And I still highly recommend this place in the area.
Just a taste of MSG in every meal we tried. Deep fried shrimp were tasted like oil used for frying was bad and old.
I ordered the juicy pork Xiolongboa and it was delicious
I ordered from doordash not my favorite places but dumplings are good ! I loved the wonton soup !!Recommended dishesXiaolongbao, Fried Dumplings
Insane wait time , I learnt it’s better to order ahead and drop by , taste was just okay . I was disappointed by the sauces they gave for take out . Idk if I should have asked them to give all 3 like they give in other stores . We tried potato and chicken curry , chicken curry tasted better . Overall the experience was just ok , I would come back again but not anytime sooner !!
The service is really bad, they served us the soup in a plastic bowl for take out, we have to ask for spoons and plates and they looked at us with a death stare when we asked politely, the sauce was dirty, the walls had sauce stains and they were cleaning the floor at 11:30 in the morning when there was customers bleach smell while eating, yum. The only time the waitress smiled as us was when we went to pay because we remained extra polite. The food is good but I feel like the skin is too thick for the xiao long bao; the meat and broth is delicious on the sweet side. The biggest problem I have is that we had to ask for spoons and they only gave us coffee spoons tiny ones because apparently they don’t have normal spoons. I don’t know how they expect us to eat soup dumpling with those tiny spoons without spilling and wasting the soup. The food was a 3 stars I’d come back once every 6 months for the food but a 0 star for the service didn’t feel welcome at all. My family and I are very friendly and stayed positive and smile a lot but this was a lost cause. So just to be fair, it would be a 2 star experience meaning I would not come back because there are better dumplings at other restaurants.
