TOPS Friendly Markets

I used to be an exclusively Walmart only shopper for groceries. However Walmart has been screwing me over a lot lately on every food that I buy and eat. So I go to tops and I think everything's double the cost but the surprise is that the shoppers club card gives me half off on most of the items I buy and then when I find yellow tag savings in the meat department the produce department the bakery and more I get even better savings. I literally just bought four New York strip steaks for $7.98!! Lady Godiva ice cream double decadent dark chocolate for $2.50!! And right now gas is about $3.75 to $3.79 depending on where you go. By using my club card savings and gathering up my points I got my gas for $2.99 a gallon!! I'm a believer now and I'm going back to the old grocery stores that I used to shop when I was younger because Walmart and the big box stores are screwing everyone over. Tops in Elmira on cedar Ave is a very nice store with great deals!

Don't come here for fresh fruit or vegetables unless you want rotten ones. Over the past several months I have lost count of how many rotten onions, tomatoes, cabbages, potatoes and whatever else I have had the displeasure of putting my fingers through when trying to find just one that is edible. They stock vegetables lower quality than your local food pantry.

Everyone there is nice expect for the Manager D.she treats people wrong if she knows you have been with someone her family knows get over it be with him yourself.abd stop being discriminating.people here think there better. And there fruit is rooted alot

I do prefer Wegmans. Lights in the check out lines are always on but no one is ever home. 9x out of 10 even though the light is on no one is there. They are off doing something else. Not sure why they don't just turn out their lights when they walk away.

Overall nice layout of store, very well cleaned & organized. Just surprised by the cost of fruit which isn't the store's fault....enjoy coming here weekly and expect to return. Amazing customer service by all staff.

Worst customer service store around Elmira!! It's sad because I knew a disabled individual that tried to call ahead for 4 items that were in the same aisle at 9 pm instead of paying a delivery fee and was going to pick up at the customer service desk. TOPS EMPLOYEE SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT. the customer was very sick.... Unbelievable that it was 4 items and they couldn't accommodate this person I would not have given a star at all but wanted to leave this comment

Good. Selection of fresh fruit/vegetables varies every time I go. They have discontinued my tuno. I loved that in some of my vegan veggies to add protein

I do not shop here often enough anymore since the closer TOPS closed few years back. This store is always clean and staff eager to assist patrons. I do appreciate the self check out set up which allows more room to placed own bags and pack as you ring items out. This plaza on Cedar St. is overlooked for sure.

Quick stop for some items. Upsetting @ 70 years old, they asked for my ID to buy Redi whip. I stopped again. I stopped again. And again.

There was a problem with the system and wouldn't take credit cards and ebt cards .The computer system was down .Even though there was a wait to get your card cleared .Tops were very apologetic and handled the situation very professionally. Great Job Tops !!!
