I am visiting in the area and wanted to go to Holy Mass.nWhen I entered this beautiful Church I felt right at home. The stain glass windows, statues, candles, pictures and kneeling rail immediately fit your spirit into that which is Divine!nHoly Mass was celebrated with reverence and the homily spoke of the truths of Holy Scripture. I was filed with great joy.
This is a really beautiful church in Hastings though a bit small.nThere is no modern touch to it as we nowadays see.The priest does not use a mike to talk as we are used to these days.nNo alter servers were present when I heard Mass.nSomething i really like was the communion part - instead of walking in line to the pulpit like we normally do there was a place to kneel down up front.nFr Joe personally kneels everyone down and gives them communion.I thought it was wonderful.nThey have these huge windows with colored glass of Our Lady, Jesus etc - figures carved on the glass. When the sun shines through them it's such a beautiful sight.nThere was also a lot of wood used in the Church which once again lends an old touch.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Hastings is a really nice small town Church. The Priest, Fr. Joseph has done a wonderful job keeping this Parish traditional. Fr. Joseph is very caring, his Homily is always thought provoking and his attention to detail is amazing!
Fr. Devereaux, and all the parishoners, made my experience of this Sunday Mass all the more holy and beautiful. The most welcoming of people! Thank you!!
