Warm and cozy coffee shop. We visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and appreciated seating at a table outside. Their latte was exquisite and I enjoyed their oat & Reese cookie. Their Nanaimo bar wasn't the traditional recipe as it had more of a coconut flavor but it wasn't bad.
What a great little gem, I wouldn't say it was a hidden gem since it was busy. Love the decor, it has some real personality.nAs a family with dietary restrictions, it was great to see they had some treats that were safe to eat gluten free and vegan. The brownie had just the right amount of chocolate fudge and sweetness. The nanaimo bar has the right layer ratios and sweetness. The turtles bar was just delicious.nThe iced cappucino, mocha, and hot chocolate oat milk were very creamy and not overly sweet, a nice contrast to some shops which are over the top with the sugar content. The chai latte was perfect with not too much foam.nThe service was great. Quick, attentive always a concern when you have dietary restrictions, and polite.nThis is a must visit the next time we are in Almonte.
The third and last Ottawa Valley Coffee shop tried. This one I tried on my own. It was a beautiful and warm day yesterday so I tried a cold drink, a cold dirty chai. It was really good. I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The hot dirty chai was great but I think iced dirty chai is my favorite drink now. The service was a pleasant surprise. The server was nice enough to bring my drink to me! I decided to try one of their snacks and had some kind of raisin tart bar. The base was very creamy, crumbly and buttery. It was great but I needed a utensil to eat it as it just crumbled when I tried to use my hands. Offering utensils would have been nice. There wasn't as much merchandise in this location which I liked more. Less distracting. Very open layout when you walk in which was also very nice. A nice experience overall and I would certainly recommend trying it...and in particular the iced dirty chai!
I always pay a visit here at Ottawa Valley Coffee when I come to Almonte. It’s a nice comfortable space and the coffee is superb!
Favourite place to get coffee in Almonte!! Their holiday drink menu is fantastic, especially their gingerbread and peppermint coffees. Their baked goods always taste fresh, I highly suggest their lemon squares. Prices are greatnnThey sell ADORABLE hats, little booties, and clothing with their brand that look absolutely darling, and the prices for their merch are pretty good.nnThe atmosphere is fantastic, always nice music and a great charming environment to catch up with friends and family.
