Just wanted to ask for information regarding someone who is currently being held by the facility. Woman who answered was evasive, dishonest and rude. It is their job job know these things and I am currently unable to help a friend who has been held there. You make people hate police even more than they already do. Absolute terrible job. Should be reprimanded.
Detective Jennifer Price did not take my concerns seriously and made me feel stupid for feeling unsafe. When she did address the concerns, she did not include what we discussed and the harassment I was experiencing continued. I tried to follow up with her a half month ago and still no response because my case doesn't have a high enough "priority." Perhaps if she listened to my concerns initially she would have a better understanding of how the half grand of money that is being withheld from me and the harassment I continue to experience is in fact a higher priority than she initially assessed. Have asked to speak with a different detective. Maybe someone else will be more understanding, respectful and competent. Edit: Be really firm or they will walk all over you. Once I called the detective out on her less than mediocre work she pulled her act together quite quickly.
Shout out and a huge thank you to Constable Danijel Avlijas for his incredible quick and awesome service. I lost my phone earlier this week and I was in a state of panic, for the night darkness was starting to set in. I was extremely happy to hear from Constable Danijel Avlijas saying that he had my phone. I had stopped to watch the kids mountain biking on the loop and apparently that is were the kids found my phone it and brought it to Constable Danijel Avlijas. He then quickly called my phone and friends to help get in contact with me. All to say I was very relieved and impressed with his awesome service. I also want to send out a Big, big thank you to the kids on bikes, who found the phone and with quick action got it to the officer, Constable Danijel Avlijas. Constable Danijel Avlijas should be recognized for awesome public service and great personality, served with a smile with his eyes. Great service provided by kind people needed everyday. Thank you so much for changing my stress to relief, you rock. Especially during these confusing days. Thank you
The woman officer at the desk was too rude to be professional. Laughed at me when I asked to use a stapler to add a 2nd page to my incident report. There was 3 people at the desk in total and only 1 person was taking peoples #’s. I would recommend going all the way to the one in the East they have the fastest service and are courteous, respectful and have excellent customer service. Definitely learned my lesson and will NEVER come to this location again.
Was arrested for moving someone's furniture from a house that had a legal issue and was charged with homeowners issues!? Massive federal charges of grow op and drugs??? Then they made me wait in a steel box @ 5 celsius and constant light torture for 24 hours and 1 sandwich, the water was broken in my cell. The officer said she don't give a F***. was not allowed a phone call, was forced to use a lawyer of their choice instead of me contacting my own family lawyer. Then they sent me to prison cause there was no JP on duty in all of Ottawa...sure. Finally got released and they "lost" my wallet, belt, phone, cash and emergency inhaler. And they shove me out in the cold with no jacket, belt, shoe laces even and tell me to bad. Had to walk miles home in cold gasping for air, coughing thinking I could not even call an ambulance now if I collapse. And I don't even have a criminal record. So trust me no one's safe. But hey some people still think police officers are here to protect and serve. I only see them serving their own amusement. At our expense.
We came back to our parked car and found the driver side had been mashed in and mirror broken in a hit-and-run. We reported the accident here. The female officer could not have been more helpful in guiding my wife the car owner through the process. We did have a problem with the instructions to take the photo - the distortion in the loudspeaker was so high it was almost impossible to understand her. And, a loud boo to the City who demands that victims of an accident pay to be allowed to enter the photo facility!
The staff was very professional. The beds were terrible, no toilet paper, the breakfast was underwhelming and cold. The detective on my case was very good at his job. Charged me/but not guilty. Would not recommend. Behave yourselves!
This is a shout-out to Constance Cavanaugh for being a customer service person who goes above and beyond! I’m normally very apprehensive about dealing with the police but I would trust this woman with my life. She made me feel extremely comfortable during the accident reporting process. One of the few people out here who seems like a genuinely kind soul, even with this short interaction together. She is also a crazy cat lady which I think explains this entire review. Can someone buy her multiple drinks for me? Thanks.
My wife and I were visiting Ottawa as our last stop touring Canada on our 37th wedding anniversary. We decided to travel in our brand new car to see the sights. Luck was not shining on us, as we were struck from behind when we were stopped, in stop and go traffic, on the 401 East bound toward Ottawa. We're from the States and were completely unsure what to do given the traffic, location, and circumstances. Let's just say pretty shook up. The driver at fault was even more frustrating, offering no insight or support, nor asking if we were ok or even apologizing. The car was drivable, and we really weren't comfortable on the highway, stuck where we were, so we exchanged papers and decided to get on our way and look into more what we had to do when we reached Ottawa. Little did we know that it would be so difficult to get answers and reach the nearest OPP station. We decided to try the Ottawa Police Services on Elgin, to try to find out what we should do. The front desk people were absolutely fantastic. They couldn't have been more helpful and assisted us through the whole process. They even contacted the OPP for us to find out what the Ottawa staff could do to help us file everything we needed to without sending us two hours out of our way to report an accident that wasn't even our fault. If I could give these folks ten stars I would. On a side note, we were visiting just this past weekend during the big marathon. Quite a few Ottawa Officers out providing support services to the races, that I was able to witness. Each Officer was extremely professional, helpful, considerate, and outstanding in everyway. I would guess I witnessed more than 50 plus officers each dealing with different situations, from directing traffic, assisting with the crowds crossing streets, bicycle riders who weren't necessarily thinking they needed to stop for anything, and other situations, that they handled with ease and grace and often with a smile on their face. Perhaps if we treat others with respect, then that will be returned. Thank you so much Ottawa Police Services.
I needed release forms in order to get my fathers vehicle out of the impound. So unfortunately the vehicle wasn't under my name. So the lady suggested i get a written statement by the owner allowing me to receive the release forms. After receiving the written statement she then said that we will need the owner come in himself, after she already told me otherwise. I then gave my father a call on my cell which made no difference since he had to come in. Finally, my father arrived and got the release forms she then said your photo looks nothing like you, and that you should entrust your vehicle into someone more capable of taking care of it. she then said you should give the forms to your son he seems very impatient. I''m sorry my vehicle was stolen and you guys found nothing at the same time i don't want to pay a 300 impound charge for u guys finding nothing. very disrespectful i'm not impressed. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone.
