I had good experience at Ottawa International Airport.nIt was not too busy in middle September.nPersonnel was polite and willing to assist a foreigner.nAirport is not as big as one could expect. But that precisely makes it a nice spot as it is not noisy not busy airport.
Bring food, typically nothing open after 5. Slowly getting better, but you'll be unpleasantly surprised. There isn't a lot and its more-often-than-not closed regardless of time of day.nnOther main issue is that luggage can be a 45+ minute wait as it always seems like there is only one crew going. Attached is a picture of the ceiling you'll be looking at a lot while waiting for bags.
Quiet airport during the evening time. Place is very clean, neat and tidy. Some stores are still open.
I really love this Airport, great layout and always cleannBut the gate crews and luggage service are the WORST! They are so incompetent, every time I fly there are no gate crews available, wait on tarmac 10 minutes then wait 10 minutes for the bridge and another 20+ minutes for baggage. This has been going on for years. Landed 30 minutes ago and still waiting, yet Airport is not even busynGet your crap together!nI fly to different cities all the time and it's seamless, what's the problem here?nEdit :Now 40 minutes and nothing, baggage carrousel is not even turningnEdit#2: still no luggage = Shame on YOW+Porter
Small, clean and beautiful practical airport. It would be great to see some more international destinations flying from Canada's Capital's Airport. Happy with the recent addition of London Heathrow along with Paris, the 2 best cities in Europe. But come on... We can do better... Can we have Rome and Frankfurt too ???
