I have experienced exceptional customer service with this company! My internet works great and when power has gone out, it has been restored at a reasonable time.
Very over priced, unreliable service and company. We have numerous power outages a year and it takes them anywhere from 6-12 hours to numerous days to a full week for restoration. They definitely treat their customers as their lowest priority. Their prices are extremely steep and greedy. I have nothing positive to say about this company. It is a shame they are the only electric provider in the area and we have to go through them.
The reason I’m giving them 2 stars instead of 1 is due to their internet. It’s insanely cheap for what you get. However the power service is a complete joke. Is it doing absolutely nothing outside? Have fun losing power for absolutely no reason at all with no ETA on when it’s going to come back online. This happens multiple times a year. It used to be way worse, but it’s still a joke. Also during serious weather, have fun not having power for a week, or more. With once again, absolutely no ETA on when it’s coming back online. For how much they charge people for power, and also fees.. You’d think they’d maybe do a better job at making sure the power doesn’t go off on a weekly basis.
It worries me that you received 7.4 million, yet you charge $200. to a new customer just to get service. Ostego electric company is the most heartless company out there. They will make you pay to get your deceased loved one off the bill if you are even late on one payment in 12 months!!! $200 that is Outrageous losing a loved one is hard enough, this company is unfair with it's policy's. We've been customers for 13 years and yet they show no sympathy for you no matter how long you've used there company.
Disappointed and overcharged To become a member you have no choice but to pay $200. They market and promote internet that they don’t have to offer. Overcharged for no reason prior to my due date. Outrageous that a company would do this during this time. Wouldn’t recommend this company and there are no other in the area. Horrible that they treat members that way because they abuse of power because of lack of companies.
Unreasonable and monopolized For lack of companies in the area they charge members $200 for no reason and overcharge even prior to due date. They market and promote that they have internet connection but do not have it active at all. They should be truthful in what it markets and promotes.
Would not recommend They are extremely overpriced, needs a deposit prior to getting service. Markets internet for homes, but they don't really have any services. Charges their member excessive unnecessary fees, prior to due date.
We could not be more pleased with Otsego Electric! We have been customers for several years and recently upgraded to high speed internet and telephone service. The staff have always been professional, courteous and responsive to questions.
As others have said the service is expensive and not really worth $200 but the staff there are decent so 2 stars
