Cozy small Italian restaurant recently opened in Port Moody. We were celebrating birthday. Staff are friendly and welcoming us to bring our own cake. Food is good. Cocktail drink is special probably because we are not familiar with Italian drinks.
Finally got to try out this gorgeous joint in Port Moody. Although I'm sad it took over Rosa's, so glad to have some delicious food in the area. It is a small and cute lay out. The service is great - the staff are super friendly and they often checked on us. I ordered the fileja la pomodoro picante for my dish - I must that I really liked my dish but the only thing that I found for my dish is that it was a little over salty - great otherwise. My friend ordered the linguine e salmone and it was just perfection. So I took 1 star off just because of the saltiness of my dish and I felt like the portions weren't super big when you look at the price tag of them. Other than that, great experience overall and I think I would come back her again.
We enjoyed Osteria Povera. A lovely interior design but a touch cramped, the service was great. Pictures are of the lasagna and beef tenderloin gnocchi. The sauce on the lasagna was lukewarm, the gnocchi were a touch firm for my liking. Overall a fun dinner.Food: 4/5
Had a wonderful experience here. The ragu and salmon were delicious, the penne lacked presentation and flavour. The complimentary tasting plate was a nice touch. I had a reservation but they seemed confused and unorganized.
I was really looking forward to trying this place out, but sadly I was quite disappointed and likely won't be coming back. To start with the positives, the atmosphere and decor were quite nice and the staff was friendly. We arrived a few min before our reso and were told we had to wait outside in the cold despite there being plenty of room at their entrance, which felt pretty odd. It took us 45 min to place our food order after I had to ask to do so. Our wine was served in water glasses rather than wine glasses, not a huge deal, but it felt strange. We had the panzerotti, which wasn't great, it was too salty and there was hardly any filling. My tagliatelle was decent, but a little bland. My wife had the gnocchi, and her breaded beef tenderloin was well overcooked. Our reso was for 730 and we had wanted to order a pizza instead of the panzerotti, but they had already run out of those at that time, which was disappointing, and surprising to run out of something like pizza so early. Being a new restaurant, hopefully these are just growing pains that will get ironed out, but unfortunately, it was not a great experience for the price paid.
What a pleasant surprise to have such a wonderful meal! Very smart strategy to create dishes that can’t be compared to our beloved Rosa’s, and to be able to make reservations is so appreciated. The food was fresh, deeply flavourful, and the ambiance was intimate yet spacious. The meat lasagne was amazing and the pesto penne with prawns was so fresh and light. We loved it!! Welcome to the neighbourhood Osteria Povera. We will definitely be back!
Recently came here after work on Thursday. So lovely to support local business. These guys also operate the Mexican restaurant. I have to say the food was amazing. I ordered the Salmon. I've no idea how they made it, but it was the nicest salmon I have eaten. The pasta was perfectly aldente also.
Wonderful cozy interior, great attentive service, tasty food. Love the soothing Italian music in the background. Would appreciate more local wines on the menu over time. Overall- super happy to have a new restaurant of this caliber in the neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Don’t believe the reviews saying there wasn’t enough food Love the new place, will definitely be back. A fabulous upgrade of interior and menu. Very diverse menu, lots to chose from. Services is great and fast. And most importantly, food is delicious!
Unfortunately my dinner experience here was a complete thumbs down. I ordered the spinach lasagna, and it was extremely salty and not edible. The server spoke to the manager about it, and I was offered 20% off of my non edible meal. I understand that the restaurant is new and that theres definitely a learning curve, but 20% off of a $28 piece of lasagna is ridiculous. The manager should have tasted a piece of the lasagna from his kitchen and not served the rest of that dish to anyone else who may have wanted to order it. The complete dish should have been credited on my bill. On a positive note, the other people I was dining with had ordered the tagliatelle and they both enjoyed their dish. Vegetarian options: Not many.
