Wonderful little cafe. Amazing selection of sandwiches, cupcakes, pie, cookies, bread and more! I feel safe eating the food here. One of my favourite spots to sit and write. The staff here were much kinder compared to the one in downtown Victoria. My only suggestion would be to add iced coffee, for us iced coffee lovers!
It is so lovely to be in a place where we can eat EVERYTHING on the menu!! We enjoyed a breakfast bacon quiche, a brioche with Parmesan and spinach great flavour, a breakfast panini and a berry muffin. The bread used for the panini had amazing flavour and texture so we grabbed a loaf to take home. We are sorry not to live here but will definitely put it on our ‘must visit’ list for when we return! We were also DELIGHTED to be asked to show our vaccine passports so we could sit and eat. Keep up the great work!
We arrived post-lunch, but the loaves, pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and mixes on display still persuaded us to bring a couple of them home. The gluten free loaves are heavy on weight. There are options for people with different types of dietary restrictions. When in doubt, just ask! And there are plenty of indoor seatings for customers to enjoy their purchase with house-made beverages. Ample parking space nearby the shop in Belmont Market. One suggestion to the store is to indicate the price of each item so customers could better decide.
We loved the variety and taste. Highly recommend the carrot cupcakes and the almond cake. Would definitely go there when in the area. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegans options Parking: Plenty of parking Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, great for celiac
Why is nothing priced on the shelves? How annoying is that? Secondly, I can't comment on the quality of the products, ended up walking out because my partner and I were completely ignored while we stood at the counter waiting for 'our turn'. We weren't even acknowledged! When it came our turn, the staff helped not one but two people who entered the establishment after us! Customer service is key to my experiences and this is the 2nd time I've been virtually ignored here. Won't need to make a 3rd mistake. Nope.
I have celiac disease so this is a great place to get GF treats, snacks, desserts! We also got out wedding cake from here and it was so yummy, some guests that tried it said you couldn't even tell it was GF, tasted just like any other cake. I recommend this spot!
Their prices aren't consistent. I have been going to this place for 4 weeks with my partner for GF sugar cookies and coffee. Their prices for coffee are atrocious and charging over ~$1.30 for a refill is luxurious for me but I have paid those prices because of the GF cookies. Over the last 3 weeks I have bought approximately 30 sugar cookies and unbeknownst to me I had been paying a 50% premium on the sugar cookies. I usually went in the morning and dealt with the morning staff. I am beyond livid that their staff isn't trained properly on pricing. I was charged $15 for 6 sugar cookies and thats when I was alarmed first, I even mentioned to the cashier that they charge nearly $2.50 for a cookie. They dont have a way for cutomers to see prices other than looking over the counter to see the small ipad screen. I had noticed the price becuase I found $21 for 2 coffees and 6 cookies to be quite expensive. Today I was charged $5 for 3 of the same cookies. Their prices arent consistent and to me this place has crookish practices. Either make the register visible so people can see what they are being charged, hand out receipts by default or label your products clearly. I am out of money due to your failure to label prices on your products, to train your staff, your failure to have any screen of the register visible to the customer.
Bought the Dark Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake, Lemon Tart, and Almond Cake as a treat to share with my family. All were delicious. The lemon filling was tart and fresh, we all couldn’t even tell the products were gluten free. The Almond cake was also moist, and the cheesecake was fantastic, strawberry filling was perfectly sweet to balance out the chocolate. I highly recommend you visit this bakery if you’re in town!
Everything here is lovely! We especially love the meat pies which haven't been available in a while, not sure if they a seasonal item but hope they make a return! ;
First time at the new location, aMAZing to have my fave gf carrot cupcake with a fresh latte, seated in house! Decor is clean, modern, pastries and bread well stocked, service pleasant--whether one had dietary issues or just loves a good pastry and coffee, this place wins!!
