Signed up for the 1-day trial as I’m looking to join a new gym in the new year. Travelled in insanely bad weather with lots of delays to make it to the first class and was turned away as I was there 15 minutes and not 30 minutes in advance to get setup. I understand the policy, however, I was met with staff that said “I was GOING TO call you to reschedule”. What a complete waste of time. Some consideration and empathy would have been appreciated. There are always accommodations/flexibility that staff can do with clients but there was none here!
This is a quality gym, coaches are helpful and kind and my experience was positive until I went to cancel my membership. I was and still am trying to cancel after moving cities but good luck getting them to respond to anything. I have called every day multiple times a day, left multiple messages and I have sent multiple emails. But have they responded or picked up even once NO. As of right now I am still a member because I can't cancel, and they won't let me. Helpful when they want your money, useless when you want to move on
It has been about 1.5 years since I started ParkLawn Orange Theory. During this time the management changed several times. Some were better than others. A lot definitely depends on management overall and trainers. All trainer are very outgoing, professional and caring. The trainers were mostly the reason I just kept going. I really like and appreciate small changes being made: like letting the members to write down the license plate number for a parking instead of making them wait to be written down by a staff member. Finally, I believe cancellation policy should be more flexible. The staff member who picks up a phone should not be in charge of making a decision whether the reason of cancellation consequently cancellation fee are legit or not. I personally had to call few times to cancel my reservation due to sickness, regardless was still changed cancellation fee when it was my courtesy to not not come to the class when feeling sick, protecting other members and making my spot available to others. Once I shared this feedback with the management and, hopefully, some changes have been made.
Joined with my spouse and we have been there for 3 months now. We love the space and people in there. It is located conveniently with parking. Orange theory fitness in itself is a good program and we love and look forward to go in. It is simple and nicely curated and rarely see a routine getting repeated which keeps it fresh and intriguing. We are seeing the results already and we just want to make this more of the habit.
Current head coach Sam is the best of the best. She ensures that your form is good and pushes you out of your comfort zone to reach new heights, weights and times. Staff are friendly. Parking is covered underground.
I am not a regular member. However, I really enjoyed my trial class and found the community to be quite welcoming and the centre clean and inviting.
OTFParklawn - my fitness place of choice. OTF has lots of value-added: excellent workout coaches, well-designed fitness programs, in-person and online classes every day, clean and conveniently located. I can track my wellness progress meniscus injury using their app and I can tell that I am getting better after every workout.
It’s a 1-hour commitment that gets results! I have paid for gym memberships that I never used. OTF Park Lawn makes me wake up at ungodly hours to hamster on a treadmill and row off machines. That’s a miracle.
Enjoyed the classes for a time being and the coaches are wonderful, but the management for this place isn't flexible at all and cancelling is very difficult to do. Make sure to get your cancellation in writing or you'll continue to be billed and under no circumstances do they refund.
Be wary signing on with this gym. I have to agree with many other reviews on this: the staff care about money before they care about people. From the first moment I entered this gym, I was pushed into joining not in a good way. I was told I could cancel anytime and hurriedly asked to sign documents that now say I need to give 30 days to cancel, so I’m out a couple hundred dollars now that I tried to cancel for the summer since I’ll be away a lot. Their class pack options have no carry-over if you don’t use them within 30 days which means I end up losing money I was sick for a couple weeks so lost out on classes. It’s already the most expensive of three studios I attend, and they then have no respect for their members. Not worth it.
