I have been a loyal customer of this Portuguese BBQ establishment ever since they opened this second location in Barrie first spot closed awhile ago. This is the first time I’ve been so disappointed in the food. I had a hot table dinner 1 meat choice, plus 2 sides. The potatoes were so bland, cold and some were undercooked. The rice was okay, seemed rather dry, and the meat mix of pork, chicken and sausage felt like it was sitting there the day before. The meat mix was dry, bland and some bits seemed over cooked. I couldn’t finish my meal and had to throw it in the garbage. I’m not sure what happened to this place, since I haven’t visited in months. Us Portuguese expect nothing less of what it was before. I don’t think I could come here again with this experience. It’s too bad, because I’ve talked so highly of this place before.
I used to love this place! New, non-Portuguese owners; the quality of food has dropped considerably. The chicken was extremely dry and in places, hard to eat because it was overcooked. Fries are not the same. Peri sauce? Not the same. Super sad and disappointed that this has happened to this place. Can't eat here again Food: 1/5
Came with my mom and we loved the food! The chicken was so flavourful and good portions for a great price! I Highly recommend trying it out if your feeling good Portuguese food !
Chicken tasted old and gross. So did the pork. It was watery and soggy. To the point the buns fell apart from the moisture. Didn’t even finish my meal. Threw it in the trash. This food was really terrible…
Delicious food and even better employees. The chicken was so flavorful and well cooked. Definitely one of the better Portuguese food I’ve had in a while. I’ll be back again!
I used to go to the other location on Mapleton! I used to order half a chicken dinner the portions were big sadly they closed down went to this location the portions are small for the same price not worth it! But he did give me a free dessert but still I won't be coming back and they are new Canadians if you know what I mean
I went there today and to my surprise there is new owners. Unfortunately the food was horrible and the service was horrible also. The food was so bad I got home and just put it all in the garbage and went around the corner to buy swiss chalet instead. I am portuguese and could not believe how I had just thrown away $50...rice was hard...chicken and potatoes no taste. Besides the chicken nothing else looked like it was made today. I will never go back there. The previous owners were great...didnt even know they sold the place. So disappointing!!!!
I walked in and it was the most friendly environment. It was only take out but the cashier was super friendly. I got the full chicken and i have ti say the peri peri sauce was one of the best sauce i have ever tried. Over all would give this place 9.3/10 Vegetarian options: Rice potatoes and veggies
Worst "Potugese BBQ" if you can even call it that. I ordered for the first time today and was truly disappointed. Maybe to the uncultured tongue this is considered delicious and worthy of a high star rating. I can assure you, it deserves 0 stars, it's that bad. The rice was hard and undercooked. The potatoes bland and undercooked. The chicken tasted like day old reheated Costco rotisserie chicken slathered in mediocre piri piri sauce. Would not recommend. In fact, just go to Bradford if you want authentic delicious portuguese BBQ.
I tried rice with full chicken,with potato and salad combo.tastes amazing. Also tried the custard tart which tastes incredible.must try if you are into Portuguese cuisine and flavours.
