It's happening right now. One of the best festival in Ontario. Varieties of butter tarts. Lovely atmosphere. Great festival to enjoy with family and friends
We went to the buttertart festival for the first time this year, and we drove up from the city. We arrived at about 9:15am parking was a bit difficult to find we had to park on a side street a bit of a walk away, which wasn't a big deal. Just definitely don't expect to get a spot in one of the lots unless you get lucky & get a spot when someone is leaving. It was VERY busy, packed with people, hard to get a good look at the booths, it was crowded. It's all along one street. In my opinion, they should have occupied some of the side streets a bit more to spread things out a bit. I think this would allow for better flow & give people the opportunity to check out the stands a bit more. There was one lot that they had completely closed off, not allowing people to park that could have been used for more vendors to spread out, giving much more space for people. But other than it being crowded, it was good. The tarts were all fabulous, and it was definitely not easy to choose what tarts you want to buy. We were able to get two packs of the competition tarts, which I was happy about. We noticed that those sold out very quickly. I didn't see any more after 11 am. I know it's a bit difficult, but I think it would be a good idea to get the competitors to make many more tarts to be able to be sold. To allow more people to get the option to buy them to try. Overall a great experience & we enjoyed it.
If you're undecisive like me, this is not a good place to go. You'll buy every single flavour and never ever have a skinny assnGreat experience, it's downtown towards the waterfront, so many different vendors, buttertarts, clothes, ice cream, dachshund rescue, and A LOT more!nnTarts range from $3- 5 for singlesnnMaple bacon and Skor are our favourites nnIt's worth going to at least once in your life, who doesn't love buttertartsnnCrowded, but everyone was nice and respectfulnnThere's great hiking and conservation spots nearby, too...if that's your thingnnJune 10
The annual pilgrimage to bow down to the best butter tart bakers in all the realm! followed by a Chinese feast. After four years of watching the lines at The Queen’s Tarts snake across the road, I joined the lineup to see what all the fuss was about.. simply divine perfection. Equal to and different from DooDoo’s Diane Rogers handmade one at a time masterpieces. Both now become must-have’s! And I guessed what the mystery is of why their line is longest and slowest: they sell singles, no prepacks - everyone’s order is different, they get exactly the assortment of the 25 flavors that they want! Too bad Queen’s is a day away in Sault St. Marie... DooDoo’s in Bailieboro is only 75 minutes east! She was sold out of her best-in-show award winning fruit tarts the first hour, and completely sold out by noon!
My partner and I drove 2 hours to come to the butter tart festival and had a great time, this was our first year attending. There was lots of entertainment and of course, butter tarts! Would recommend to anyone who loves butter tarts or would like a fun filled day. Some lines were extremely long, but it was worth the wait.
