How has it taken so long to get this type of place into Wolseley/West Broadway?! A beautiful space, seeking divided into a brewpub vibe at the front and nicer dining at the back/side. A solid selection of Good Neighbour beer on draught. It was pretty busy and we had to wait to get in, but it's also the 4th day since they opened. Lots of staff/servers around, and they were super friendly. The food looked pretty good, though I kept it simple with the tasty fried potatoes.
Had the pleasure of experiencing the Sunday Roast feature that One Sixteen put on a few weeks ago. I am absolutely floored with the atmosphere, food, and overall dinner! Wine pairings that are perfectly curated for your meal. Dishes were so flavourful, impressionable and packed with pizzazz. If they’re available, please do yourself a favour and order the potato cakes! Scrumptious and crispy all around!
Came for a beer. The other reviewers highlight the wonderful food served here so would be willing to come back and try. Beautiful space, indoor and out. Service was adequate, but our server couldn’t really provide details/suggestions about the different beers. But she was happy to provide tastes of a couple of the ones I was interested in no flights served here. The other issue came at the end of the evening: I ordered a 7.5oz but got charged for the 14oz, and was also given the wrong beer to go; unfortunately I only realized this after leaving the area. Note: to take beer to go, due to liquor laws, they gotta sell you food, so they have baggies of roasted peanuts for $2
A new place for dinner and drinks in Wolseley. There are two sides of the establishment- dining called Two Hands and the Good Neighbor Brew area with a different menu. We are on the Two Hands side and thoroughly enjoyed for sharing items. Marinated olives, Buratta and asparagus, pork collar and fingerling potatoes. All completed with a cheese sampling and custard tart. We will be back!!!!
4.5 stars. The service was impeccable, staff were quick and knowledgeable. Great beer and wine selection. Our fav dishes were the artic char highly recommended, potato with chicken liver mouse and flatbread with whipped ricotta/dill oil. The custard tart and bison tartar were decent but not stellar. All in all, great place for a date or dinner out with friends, although very loud on the Two Hands side so keep that in mind. Can't wait to see how the menu evolves.
Cozy West Broadway/Sherbrook shared plates and taproom/brew pub concept; two concepts in one restaurant. Beautiful space, especially the patio. I believe it could be used in winter think fires and outdoor beers/cocktails. Not sure about the liquor laws tho lol Food was delicious! I had the pickerel burger , shared crispy potato's, and Fried Chicken. There are nine options on the menu for vegetarians; you are not left out. Single glass wine menu is limited but the two I did try were great choices; Chaval -Macabeo Spain and Terres Falmet-Cinsault solid smooth fruity full-bodied red. Otherwise wine sold by the bottle. I would love to see more wine options by the glass. Beer is produced by the "Good Neighbor" side and only their beer is available. I've had their beer in the past but not on this visit. On Mondays they have a promo of $5.00 beer in a mason jar. Great deal! Service was great. Made a reso as it was a Friday night. Would highly suggest. Overall, I would be back for more wine and food!! Vegetarian options: There are
Went for an afternoon bite and beer with my partner, and what a fantastic new spot in Wolseley and Winnipeg! We tried out 4 of their beers whiskey sour small batch, French Blanche, Fruit Sour, and Amber lager, all of which went really well with our very delicious radicchio salad, wings with a tahini/yogurt sauce, and wicked potatoes with a curry drizzle. Friendly staff, simple decor, delicious taproom bites and beer, reasonable prices. Fortunately, One Sixteen is on our commute -- will certainly be one of our new favorites! Excited to see what the restaurant portion has in store, as we will certainly be coming back.
This plays out as a one stop location for drinks and food. There is a lot of space available for remote work, and the necessary wifi. Personally, I came for the coffee craft. The Chilled Americano is definitely an inventive beverage, best enjoyed taking your time with. Its visual effects, and presentation is the built in extra that comes with it. The drink appears to be a nitro cold brew, without actually being a nitro cold brew. It has a hint of acidity that I quite enjoy. An excellent experience overall, and I can tell that Joshua takes his craft quite seriously.
I know I give a lot of five star reviews and you might be wondering how this five star review differs from all the other five star reviews I have given. It's pretty simple really, just like parents always say they love all their children equally, deep down, everyone knows they have a favourite. If restaurant reviews were my children, one sixteen would be my favourite.
I loved the pickerel burger with a very nice tea chai latte. Great atmosphere & friendly staff. My friends really enjoyed the beer.
