Been taking courses at this place for a few years, my experience with teachers is that all of them clearly know their information well, but their teaching styles could not be more different. This means that finding a good teacher is pretty much luck, and if you don't then you'll be stuck with a mediocre at best teacher for an entire term. There is one exception for this: French class. There is only one teacher that teaches every class, and well you just have to do good in class. Otherwise you will have a bad time because French Teacher carefully picks out students with bad marks and flame them in front of the whole class. Just don't set a bad example, and you'll be fine.
So, I've been doing olympiads for around 2.5 years. The overall experience is well, ok. For most of the classes, Either the teacher is the goat, or bad. All teachers will teach well, but not all teachers will actually try to help you understand, except for french. Every single french class has this teacher called "French teacher" and you kind of have to get on his good list. He will respect the good list, but on the other hand, if you do not well, the teacher will continue to shame the person for the whole entire year. Overall, olympiads is ok.
the math class is death, english and the other subjects are fine ig. They also give out candy at break
I would give a 0 star if I could, this school is one of the worst schools I have ever been too. The French class was the worst with Mr. Laribi, He refuses to communicate with students and is just a horrible teacher over all.
The classrooms are always dirty and bad quality. They are also very small, definetly not worth the money.
Do not waste your money there! Very bad teaching quality, no care of student and parents concerns. No communication regarding student performance, no feedback, no improvements. No arrangement of communication even being asked by parents. My son has been taking classes of different subjects, but we are more and more disappointed. Don’t be fooled by their past competition or contest result and awards, those are history. Top students are top everywhere. Do not be fooled by their misleading ads/reputation/webinar. Past is past, doesn’t represent current and future. Now is very very different. They are more commercial than educational, not even mentioning high charge for a crowded class. Watching free YouTube video can help a student much better than going to this school. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
I've been studying at Olympiads for a few years now, and I have no idea why I didn't quit earlier. This school hasn't been beneficial to me at all. I've taken math, science, and the French course at this school and I've repeated courses multiple times as well. Classes go extremely fast, you literally learn a whole unit in 1-2 classes. It's very hard to keep up with classes unless you have a lot of time during the week to review your notes, you learn really fast, or if you already know all the information in the course. For French classes, there's only one teacher, so you'll have to hope he doesn't hate you. The teacher humiliates students in front of the class, and turns them into a bad example if they get a single question wrong, teaches lessons extremely fast and gives no time to ask for clarification. If you do ask for clarification, the teacher will get mad at you and turn you into a bad example again. If you're really a beginner in French, do not look at the "beginner" level and think it will be easy. Don't be fooled by the difficulty level displayed. Personally, I feel like I learned nothing from this school. Would not recommend this school if you want to learn something new. Sorry for the essay bahha
Olympiads is like a massive hit or miss. The teachers probably know their content, however, their communication skills range from absolutely trash to excellent. Most of the times you end up missing though. Basic rules of gambling state that you should always look for a better game if the current one is failing you.
I think the classes are okay in teaching, you just have to be a fast learner and not get easily bored or distracted from other things. If you do so, then I don't believe there's too much difficulty. However, homework tends to be overwhelming considering children don't just take one class. I find especially that math homework might take longer, since you have to write down a lot of formulas. I highly do NOT recommend to take courses during the summer, take one course AT MAX and make sure it's not too hard because then you won't learn anything and you'll struggle even harder with the homework. To make things worse, many classes are two times a week, some even THREE. I took SSAT during the summer and it was a huge struggle to keep up with the homework, since new ones were added every two days and they were about eight pages long. They should add sections where people should stop based on the number of courses they have, or even better, make the homework easier overall. I haven't been to French class, but I do remember going to a French Interview with "French Teacher". What kind of stupid name is that? Why doesn't he use his actual name? Afraid of getting sued for being mean and humiliating children? I remember when he asked me to "type my grade in chat", and I was, then all of a sudden, he started YELLING AT ME saying "UNMUTE AND TELL ME YOUR GRADE" when he previously told me to type in chat. I have also been talking to someone who has had experience in French courses, and she told me that he would humiliate her in front of the whole class for doing homework incorrectly, and also how he spoke too fast for the class to understand. She also told me that she cried once during class, but luckily hid her face, and one time there was an unfortunate student who cried on camera, and the teacher said "crying won't help". The teacher also doesn't allow virtual backgrounds, and one of the reasons is "so the homework doesn't become the background". There is another hidden reason he doesn't tell us, and that's because to make sure that parents aren't in the background so they don't hear the insults. If you are taking French courses, please just blast the sound so your parents can hear, or record footage. I know it's invasion of privacy, but you can just show the parts where the teacher insults you and delete the video after showing your parents.
hate it here i've been going to this school for about four years and i've learned absolutely nothing. it is a definite waste of my time when i could be doing much more productive things such as getting my actual school work done. the environment in the actual school feels very expressionless and factorial and you get a tiny break where they give out a tiny piece of candy. however, some of the teachers are nice and understanding, i don't learn anything here. i think a majority of people that go here are forced by their parents such as me, and i would recommend to parents not to have their children go here, as it is a huge waste and you get little out of it.
