I went to this small place with my bf to celebrate oir anniversary and we were so happy to choose going here. As an "appetizer" we had this pupusa which I believe is from el Salvador and it had cheese inside with pickled cabbage on top with red sauce, it was delicious. As main dishes my bf ordered enchiladas suizas with chicken filling and green tomato homemade sauce and cheese on top with a side of brown rice, black beans and pico de gallo. The tortillas were not too soggy, the sauce was just tasty and not too salty. These might be the best enchiladas I have tried so far in Vancouver. The only thing about here is that the owner is extremely rude and clumsy and my tortillas were heated in the microwave, disappointing really. And my bf had the beef chimichanga with a side of salad - lettuce and pico de gallo - which I tried and it had some special dressing that made it taste spectacularly fresh and savory. And then the cook made us a special taco order because of our anniversary. As a dessert we had this "flan" which I believe is similar to cream brulee with caramel sauce on top, not too sweet but so creamy. It was amazing, I just loved coming here, the prices are affordable, the food is fresh and the staff are ok. It's ok but I'd go to other places when it comes to Mexican food.
Ole Ole, what can I say, You have a pizza our hearts! The service and food saved us the long flight and hassle. The owners and food are as authentic as it gets. This place is a gem. Look how happy my queen is! Pics posted
Nice little place for Mexican food. It is family run business. I tried veggie Chimichanga and it was delicious. They cut fresh veggies for salad and it was best salad .
This small, family run business has some of the best and closest to authentic mexican food for a really great price. My partner and I both got enchiladas her the green chile, me the mole, and split a plate of nachos. The quality of the food is very high, and the decor, music, and location are all very cute. Great for a date night.
WORST dining experience ever. Went here after reading all the positive reviews. Arrived to find the servers smoking right outside the entrance. The smoke smell lingered the entire time inside the restaurant. Ordered the veggie chimichanga and was served a burrito stuffed with a slightly seasoned frozen vegetable mix carrots, green peas, spinach- it was mediocre at best. Unfortunately, we could not finish our meals because the servers started smoking again in between our meal, wafting more smoke into the restaurant. We left in a hurry since I have asthma. Once I got home I realized I left my purse at the restaurant. I called them to let them know I’m coming to retrieve it. Once I got there, they denied I left anything behind even going as far as telling me I did not bring a purse in!!! I did not get my purse back... UNTRUSTWORTHY people who treat their customers like garbage! I have no idea how this place is still open, please don’t believe all the positive reviews!
The food is always fresh, delicious, and made with love. The service is always prompt and kind. Ole Ole has definitely become one of my favourite restaurants for authentic Mexican close to home!
Delicious food! Recommended!!! And please come and support them. We were there for a good hour and there's no customers beside us. With the COVID19 we really need to support our lovely local business. I want this place to survive and still serve us good, delicious authentic Mexican food.
Tasty authentic Mexican cuisine. Also I would recommend to try desert, sorry forgot the name. It’s like cream brûlée, but Mexican version with homemade caramel on top. Finger-licking!
Very excited to try this place and heard great reviews, unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and thought it was delicious but my husbands chicken burrito was flavorless and cold in the center. Lots of chewy dark meat and the red sauce tasted like tomato sauce from a can. My sister ordered the tacos and it was just okay.
Whenever we crave for a totally authentic mom and pop style Mexican food, our go to place. Mi amigo never disappoint.
