Something Special is extremely special!! I have had two arrangements from them and each was truly so memorable. One was a Christmas amaryllis arrangement with more amaryllises at least 8 than I have ever seen in a lovely birch covered container. And just last week I got a beautiful birthday bouquet that still looks good 9 days later. My husband was not able to be home for my birthday and Lisa, the owner, made sure the arrangement would be delivered exactly as my husband had requested. Something Special is a wonderful combination of very talented florists who are also very compassionate.
Something Special is extraordinary! The flower arrangements at my daughter’s wedding were stunning! The bouquets and flowers at the church were perfect. Every detail was considered. I highly recommend Something Special for an overall wonderful experience.
“Good luck finding flower this weekend”, click! We have been buying flower from this place to support local businesses in town on every occasion since 2016, but this is how we were treated. On this mother’s day weekend, I sent two emails to set up the usual delivery. I did not hear back from them after two emails, I called on Saturday at noon to make payment. I was told, they don’t have my order because are not taking email orders because they are too busy. The person who answered the phone said “Good Luck finding flower this weekend” and hung up on me while I was still talking. I called Stamford Florist and explained the situation I found myself in. They said, “we are here to help, even though we stopped taking order of the Mother’s Day weekend, we will get you the flower for you. 4 hours later, I have this beautiful tall flower arrangement in the middle of our living room for the mother’s day, but not from Something Special. I am never going back to this place.
We are across the country and called Something Special to order an arrangement for a family member that had passed. They were the closest to my desired location That was at 12:19PM and I asked the employee many questions to make sure the feelings were conveyed properly to my relatives. She took my requests and assured me it would go out today. The owner called me when she returned to the shop to assure me she would tend to this sensitive order, telling me the flowers and colors to be used. Lisa sent me a photo of the finished product. I got a text from a family member at the house at 12:48PM with the very same arrangement and the comments "Its is stunning! The photo doesn't quite capture the size of it, but it's large and right on our table when you walk in!" Thank you Lisa and staff for being there, when we could not! Richard in Texas
Lisa is the best florist in Greenwich. She is so creative and her prices are very reasonable. She loves what she does for a living and it shows. She has worked on our benefit for the past 13 years and has outperformed our expectations every year. She is the best!
I received wonderful advice from Barbara Jean while ordering from 2500 miles away. The recipients were overjoyed, and with an arrangement costing in the low 3-figures I still received greater than I paid for. And frankly because this was a Forgive Me note, I am waiting hopefully to have renewed my friendship with a dear classmate from Princeton. My note read ‘ Reputations are like good china— easily broken and never well mended ! “
I had an excellent experience here. Lisa was very friendly, helped me pick the most healthy plant, wrapped it up beautifully and then charged a lot less than I expected to pay. I’ll be going back here and recommend anybody looking for nice plants and flowers do the same. Thank you.
It is important to support local shops in Old Greenwich, however, my son did not have a good experience at "Something Special." He ordered flowers for Mother's Day and was told he would receive a call when the order was ready to pick up. Well, he never got the call, and rushed to store before closing so he would have the flowers for Sunday morning. When he arrived, the person working there was very rude and basically took his head off when he asked for a vase. He arrived home flustered and taken aback by the way he was treated. I think we will buy flowers at Kings next time!
The only flower shop where talent, creativity and friendliness are in abundance. I've been giving Lisa's flower arrangements to friends and they love it. Her flowers last for weeks. I wouldn't shop anywhere else.
Something Special in Old Greenwich is the best place to find cute home decor and beautiful exotic flowers. The florists there are super friendly and so good at what they do! Bring your own vase and ask for an arrangement or go in and check them out!
