Honestly this place is so tasty, since trying it, my mouth waters every time we drive by. It’s dangerous. Well prepared, quality food, satisfying portions and delicious beers. I do like a moister Black Forest cake than their version, but it’s personal taste. Can’t wait to enjoy this delicious food again on the outdoor patio on a sunny day soon!
Food is delicious! We lived in Germany quite a long time and it's amazing. Service was also wonderful although they need a bit of help on busy evenings. We were not in a rush so no impact on our visit. Vielen dank!
We had a fantastic meal at the Old Black Forest Restaurant. The pretzel appetizer was delicious and the entrees schnitzel and spaetzle were perfection. We enjoyed the atmosphere on the patio with well laid out shade umbrellas. The service was excellent and all guests were made to feel welcome and special. The imported beers were fun and the host was well informed on the libation options. The deserts were authentic and well executed. We will return for sure. Highly recommend!
Great food, great beer. Cozy small location with a nice outdoor seating area. Worth is just for a nice German beer and Pretzel. Homemade and delicious, worth the trip or a treating stopover on the way back from lunenburg.

Incredible breakfast!! We regularly have a delicious dinner here too, but first time coming for breakfast. Delicious and unique! Best breakfast you can find locally.
I don't give out 5 stars normally but this a truly great place. I loved it with the former owners and I love it with the new ones. They were doing breakfast for a while and it was the best I've ever had. I hope they start it up again. The highlight of the dinner menu for me was the smoked herring, beetroot salad. Fantastic!
These folks are amazing! They catered our wedding and hosted our rehearsal dinner and went above and beyond. They are incredible chefs and their German cuisine is some of the best I have had. We did an East Coast meets Prairie German fusion menu for our big day and they absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our guests are still talking about the amazing food. I cannot recommend them enough - great people, amazing food and service with a smile. We love them and will go out of our way to visit their restaurant when we’re in NS!

We made a reservation and thank goodness all the tables inside were gone. Lots of patio space. Service was good and fast. Food was very good. Comfy home cooking.
