A large quiet anchorage with about 40ft depth and good holding ground. Good hiking spots up to a lake that is pleasant to swim in. Excellent fishing and prawning nearby.
Beautiful place. Visited the driftwood museum. So cool!
Sweet anchorage, with a stern-tie necessary in most parts. Swing on anchor in the adjacent Waiatt Bay if it's to busy.

Fabulous destination. Nice walks, islands to paddle around and clean clear water.
We always stay here when we are in the Desolation Sound Area. It is one of the most beautiful parts of this area. It is ideal for dingying around or just resting in total peace and quiet. You do have to be careful and make sure you know exactly where you are in coming in from the south as there are rocks and reefs, but they are all clearly marked on the charts. Highy recommend it!
Nice protected spot to anchor. Go ashore and walk up to the lake for a swim.
Nice place to kayak. Hike up to Newton Lake was great. Water was very murky at the time of our stay discouraging us from swimming.
