Small friendly family atmosphere. Wait time was what I expected. Excellent patient care - doctors willing to take time and answer questions. Will recommend this clinic to anyone living on, or visiting Vancouver Island
I went in a few weeks ago during a holiday and had a horrible mental health problem that could not wait until the nextnday. I was told by the person at the reception desk that the mental health clinic was closed and I should come back the next day. I mentioned that I couldn’t wait that long as I couldn’t even sleep and needed to talk to a doctor as I waited over the weekend already and was exhausted. The person at the desk couldn’t care less and tried to talk me out of waiting in emergency care. I eventually managed to convince the person to let me wait for a doctor but it was not easy. Once I did get to wait for a doctor, I waiting a couple of hours but the doctor I eventually talked to was wonderful and that is why I gave 3 stars instead of one.
This was an exceptionally negative experience; a rating of -1000 star would be appropriate. Not only did this hospital lack sufficient beds for patients, but patients were forced to sit in chairs. After an extensive wait, the physician spent less than a minute in the examination room and demonstrated a concerning lack of knowledge, admitting uncertainty regarding the prescribed medication. Furthermore, the physician proceeded with intravenous treatment without reviewing lab results or prior consultation. While we remained patient, the inconsistency in financial information presented was unacceptable.
M wife & I have visited the urgent care facility a few times during last year. Always treated professionally, by friendly and truly caring staff. This place is outstanding by all possible evaluations. Thank you.
From a competent and friendly intake worker who kept many or us organized during a busy time, to the amazing triage nurse, this facility continues their systemic improvement.nSimilarly, x-rays were initiated promptly and conducted by a pleasantly efficient imaging tech. A fairly short wait had me being examined by a clearly competent physician who assessed the ankle injury, explained his findings, and recommended a commercialy avaliable hard cast explaining process and expected time frames for recovery. In all, a very positive and satisfactory outcome.nThank you; good work all!nnAddendum: January 16 we took our 3 year old from preschool to urgent care. The younger, male triage nurse took a cavalier attitude with with wife and child and seemed to place us on the lowest priority for treatment. In spite of him vomiting three times whilst awaiting treatment at a very slow time, he waited two hours whilst every other patient, no matter how minor, was seen ahead of him, including two very minor sprains and a prescription update all seated beside us.nnOnce treated the doctor and nurse were brilliant. Most staff are great, with perhaps at least one triage nurse less so.
