Had an open house where students showed off their projects and they are seriously talented. Super impressive work. Looks like a really good art school!
Fantastic architecture. I often visit this building when there are markets here. The inside layout is a bit confusing, but overall, very attractive! The accessibility is just alright and is near many food options and a lovely food court. I enjoy the artist alleys that allow the students and alumni to share and sell their works.
Definately a top notch Canadian gem for the arts and design. They have open houses to showcase the developing talent.
If you’re looking to build practical skills, this school may not be the right fit for you. I graduated from the Graphic Design program in 2020, and honestly, I found that about half of the professors in the program didn’t have strong practical skills with Adobe or industry-standard software. Their teaching was more conceptual than hands-on.nnSome of the more senior professors also held very traditional views on branding, without fully reflecting how quickly the industry is changing today. I ended up learning more once I started working than I did during the program itself.nnIf your goal is to gain practical experience and be job-ready after graduation in this field, I would recommend carefully considering other schools. Don’t waste four years expecting strong industry preparation here.
