Very good course. Played there for the first time and was extremely impressed with how well everything was organization. The pro shop had a very friendly lady working there. Me and my buddy were paired with a couple and we played 9 holes. The greens and the fairways were lush and very well maintained. Had a great time. Will definitely visit again.
Enjoyed my first round at Oakville Exec. this morning. Unfortunately it was soured by David the Marshall who felt it necessary to tell us to pick up the pace despite playing at an average speed, especially considering we had a very new golfer with us — I am not a professional or a new golfer, but our group of 4 was on the green of hole 13 when approached, after only 2.5 hours from our original tee off time. Which by my estimation is certainly a reasonable pace. David just takes his job too seriously, and frankly ruined the last portion of our round as we felt the need to rush, when in reality, either David needs to relax, or tee times need to be spread slightly further apart.
If this is your first time golfing I would still recommend somewhere else that waters the grass. Fairways are dead and the tee boxes require a hammer and nail to set your ball. Spoke with the manager and they said they take pride in the greens and this public course is what they expect for quality. Even at 60$ green fees and $20 cart you still don't get what you pay for.
I’ve played this course both the 9 and 18 for several years but this year 2022 both courses were in miserable condition. It appears they chose not to water the fairways or tee boxes and watered only the greens. By August both courses were dry and entirely brown and the ground like concrete. Very disappointing. In the past these courses were beautiful and well maintained. I hope in future management decides to revert to its previous level of maintenance.
One of our favorite courses. It's great that they are putting money into improving the cart paths. Still searching for that elusive hole in one. I know Mystic Ridge will give up one soon.
We did a nine hole executive course. We had a delay in the tee time by more than a half hour waiting for the lag before us. The nine took two hours for the four of us which is pretty good. The fairways were long and clear. I did note people kept hitting their balls onto our fairways from other holes which can be dangerous. One ball came quite close to us at the eighth hole. We were to the clubhouse for lunch afterward which was okay. The tables were spaced far away from each other to be able to physical distance. The servers were wearing sneeze guards and gloves. The gloves weren’t being used properly as they are single use gloves. I work in infection control and noticed this. Otherwise the meal was served in a timely manner and the server was friendly.
This is a good golf course for the beginner! Lots of room to lose your ball and find some one else's. Nice clubhouse. No change rooms but nice washrooms. Great clubhouse with inside and patio seating. Menu is diverse enough to satisfy any appetite. Practice greens. No ball washers when we were here. Early in the season though. Course in great condition! Pro shop and green fees very good. Great value,!
Need to update my review based on my recent round on Sunday, Sept. 18th. I have always enjoyed playing at Oakville Executive. I'm not sure if they just don't have groundskeepers anymore or what the story is but the course is in terrible condition! The greens were really nice Only reason for 2 stars, but everything else Tees and Fairways were in terrible condition. There were loose tees everywhere on all the Tee Boxes. The signage has always been terrible tbh. Only distances for Red and Blue, nothing listed for white, so you need to guess a lot of the time. The fairways were all dried out and all of the water hazards were pretty much dried up as well. $55 for a round seems a bit steep given the conditions. Let's hope they get back to better maintenance practices for next season.
Very nice place, easy for beginners.
Beautiful place. Greens are very well kept with much of practice fields. Power carts, clubs, balls and all essentials are available for rent. Much fun as corporate team building event or for a next day of relaxing in a nice surrounding.
