Another hole in the wall in Verdun. Called for takeout and got my order within 5 minutes. Super friendly and caring staff, offered me cold water at cash and even opened the door for me on my way out. Fresh handmade noodles, super bouncy texture. Broth is flavourful and beefy, as you’d want it. Perfect amount of fat to meat ratio on slices. All ingredients are cared for. Good light heat with chili oil on the side put as much or as little as you want. I got the Lanzhou Noodles, will be bringing my house guests when they’re in the area. Worth tipping!
as a noodle connoisseur this place is certified Bussin™ and the family who runs this place is so wonderful! prices are so incredible and the portion is insane. i am full of delicious noodles and soup and homemade chilli oil and happiness come support
I was excited to learn that a new place opened where Lotus Bleu used to be. Even more when I saw that it was Asian noodles! They make the noodles from scratch using a machine I've never seen before, very interesting. I had the marinated radish as an appetizer, it was really good, perfect balance of vinegar and sweetness. I had the spicy Lanzhou noodles, a very generous portion, with bok choy and beef slices. I love the fact that the beef was good quality - just a bit of fat, and no cartilage. The broth is tasty and the noodles excellent. The decor isn't fancy but prices are fair, and service is very friendly. Definitely a place that I'll return to. Parking: Parking in the avenues is free, not sure if there's meters in this section of Verdun street. Look out for the bike path.
Tasty and comforting! This Chinese noodle place just moved in, and I’m happy to say that everything we got for takeout was delicious. I’ve seen noodle places whose strategy appeared to be to offer any and all noodle dishes you’d define as “Asian,” but in the end, the multiple cuisines meant they didn’t really excel at anything in particular. I’m happy to say that ONouilles does mostly Chinese noodles, and they do them well a notable exception is the Boef Bourguignon, whose presence on the menu intrigues me. Is it a Chinese fusion dish like you see in Hong Kong? Pure French cuisine?? I will try and report back. We got the Braised Beef Noodle beef broth + braised beef brisket + marinated egg + tofu slices + scallions and the Lanzhou Noodles Chili flakes + bok choi + braised beef brisket + coriander+ scallions. We wondered about the difference between the two, and while they both used the same beef broth and noodles, the Lanzhou noodles had just a bit of spice to them. We also got a side of the Fragrant Tofu, which was marinated in a nice savoury sauce with maybe a hint of five spice, and the refreshing cucumber salad, which I have found to be really overpriced at other places, but here was much more reasonable in comparison. Overall, the prices are fair for this day and age—you get a serving of fresh noodles for about $16, and the sides aren’t overpriced. The people working there were so nice, too. So, you know, if you’ve ever complained that all we are getting in Verdun is fancy pizza places, why not give a slightly more humble place a try?
We picked up a beef noodle soup, a scallion noodle, and their spring rolls. Service was wonderful, we were offered water with lemon while waiting, and the employee preparing our food checked in with us to ask our preferences. The beef noodle soup was delightful. The broth was light but flavourful, beef was melt-in-your-mouth, and the bok choy wasn't mushy or overcooked - perfectly crisp. The noodles were perfectly tender. The soup was topped with green onion and coriander, so each bite tasted fresh. The scallion noodles had a nice mild flavour which we enjoyed a lot. Oftentimes, stir fried dishes can be too salty or overpowering. In this dish, the sweet fragrant scallion oil shined through. The noodles were topped with fried scallions, fried shallots, and fried crispy soybeans, as well as braised beef and crispy skin pork. Again, topped with cilantro and green onions for freshness. Overall, another wonderful dish. Lastly, we ordered the veggie spring rolls. They were a great deal - 6 of them for $4. The insides were soft while the outsides were perfectly crisp. The filling had a fragrant ginger taste, and the dipping sauce was a classic sweet and sour fruit sauce - not too sweet or jammy like many places. Great staff and wonderful food. My partner and I were big fans of our meal and will certainly be back regularly.
We had the scallion noodles and the beef bourguigon; both were delicious and good portions. The owner/server also gave us a dessert to try, which was great. Definitely worth trying!Food: 5/5
Greeted with a smile! This is a quaint, small family business I assume. A nice little place for a quick bowl of soup. I got the braised beef soup with extra bok choy The portion is big. Fresh ingredients. The one thing that could be better is the broth. It is missing some flavor. It is not far off but unlike pho or ramen, this soup was missing a little something. Overall still a good first impression. I will come back to try more items.
Perfect vegetable noodles It was delicious We just order it for the first time and will be one of those restaurants that we'll go again and again Food: 5/5
Wandered in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the exceptionally friendly staff. Make sure to check out the beef bourguignon noodles.Food: 5/5
I went twice takeout. First time the food was blend egg rolls were the highlight but I thought it might just be because they were busy. I went a second time and there was no other flavors but salt in the soup. The egg rolls were soggy inside and did not taste fresh. The ladies are very nice but the food is not unfortunately, in my opinion.
