The pub is off the busy street in a quiet side street. They have great selection of beers on tap and the service is bilingual and very attentive and friendly. Their food offering looks very tasty and we will be back for a meal. They have inside seating as well as about 8 tables for 2 outside with no ability to combine the outdoors building. The washrooms are clean and well supplied but are downstairs at the basement level with a steep staircase. All in all a great spot!
Really small pub. They managed to squeeze us beside the bar probably the worst table in the place the menu had good selection of not so typical items. The servers were nice. I had a good birthday dinner of fish and chips, my boyfriend ordered mussels. Tasty. My black velvet drink arrived mixed, when it should have been separated. Good atmosphere and quick.
Chill spot downtown, better than the average pub. Food is pretty good, steak was worth it and well served. Hope you get the asparagus as the sides for the day because they work really well with the steak and fries. Desert was on the spot as well. Service was friendly every one of the three times I went.
I was in Montreal for a business trip with my girlfriend who is quite the foodie, so she did some research and suggested going to NYKS. We had a lovely time here, the place was busy but still not feel like other large brasseries or bistro's of Montreal. Service was good overall with friendly and helpful staff. We had the fried calamari and salmon tartare as starters which were well presented, good portions and really good. We then had the beef burger and beef bavette which were equally well presented and tasty. Budget-wise, it's certainly not the cheapest the bavette steak was $33 on its own but quality and experience comes at a price. All was good overall, we would go back if the opportunity comes.
I really enjoyed my time with my friends at this place. No need to search for a parking, there is one underground near the place, for 16$. The pub is cozy, nice music, but the music is a bit loud and the place was crowded, we had to yell to talk to each other. The food and drinks were amazing. Worth a try. The best appetizer is the fondue!! They burned it on the table, it was so cool. The waitresses were nice and professional. I do recommend this place.
Good place for have a beer! Good options and good prices! A little disappointed about the food, we ordered the hamburger of the moment, and it was pretty average, mine it had a burn piece and I could only test burn for almost half of the hamburguer, also we never taste the cheese that the description said... For sure we enjoyed more the drinks that the food! I will come back but only for drinks! Good service!
Enjoyed the best server ever last night. She had contagious joy and was a delight to be around. The food was great too.... and an impressive scotch selection. I was sooooo impressed I returned tonight. Had great service again and tried the bison flank.... would have it again.... a must stop....
I ended up here because my hotel restaurant closed earlier than I thought. The restaurant manager at the Marriott was nice enough to recommend this place since it was only a four minute walk, and was one of the few places that was open past 11 PM. I had the lamb sausage merguez which was so tasty, cooked to perfection. It was served with a side salad and fries which were tasty as well. Also pictured was the fried calamari, but I could’ve done without that I wish I had chosen another appetizer instead because it came out cold and a little bit rubbery. Was edible but would not have made the same choice had I had a sample. Their Pilsner beer was delicious I recommend it if you’re wondering what beer to order and you like more of a lighter beer.
My son and I were in Montreal for four days. Walked passed NYKS on day one. Looked it up on line. Looked great. Went that night and our last night. Great food and the service and staff are fantastic! Will definitely go again next time in Montreal!!
The food was amazing and the place had great vibes. The mushroom bruschetta and salmon gravlax were both out of this world, some of the best I’ve tried of both dishes. The balance of flavours was perfection.
