Went on a corporate trip. Great service. Great food. Big resort. Navigation may be an issue as different doors lead to different places and you can easily get lost. Rooms are nice and clean but reflect age. I would go again with family. They have golf course, mini golf, arcade, kids pool and slide, separate 3m deep adults pool etc.Rooms: 4/5
We found this place overpriced for what we received. The room was comfortable but it was not very clean. I used my own Lysol wipes on the counters, door handles, and light switches and they were extremely dirty. There was also hair on the toilet and in the shower, and the phone in the room was absolutely disgusting. The bed was comfortable and room had been updated. We had breakfast at the restaurant and the food was quite basic and potatoes were completely tasteless. I couldn’t even eat them and I’m not a super picky eater. The food was probably cooked by a teenager based on the quality, which is fine but a bit more culinary training would be nice. We never did find the indoor pool as it’s not on the resort map and there were no signs indicating where it was. Overall it was a comfortable stay but I won’t be staying there again. There are other hotels for half the price that would be far better in my opinion.
I love this resort. True the facilities and the exterior of the resort could use some updating. However, the reasonable room rates, the wonderful and friendly services, and tons of amenities that’s suitable for all ages is a must. Resorts with more updated facilities would be at least $100-200 more per night. I prefer the bank for your buck! Staff are really helpful, and the restaurant choice are okay.
Stayed here during a ski weekend at Snow Valley. Loved the huge deep hot tub! It was a bit of a challenge to find the pool at first, as it's on the side of the hotel and available to the retirement residences surrounding the parking lot. The chlorine was really strong in the pool! TVs were small in the room, but it was clean. Loved the view overlooking the river! The food was average, and took a while to come out. Staff are friendly and helpful. Mini golf has 18 holes and is fun for the family!
The whole complex has a welcoming feel. The hotel lobby staff are very friendly with warm smiles to greet us. The activities offered throughout the complex was very good. There is a nice swimming pool and slide, indoor 18 hole mini golf, arcade, pool tables, ping pong table. Overall, my family really enjoyed staying here. I would recommend this place for families.
The Executive Suite we booked is incredibly dated and the bed quality is horrendous. As the resort is 50 yrs old - I assure you, this room has not been touched since opening. The pull out sofa is the most uncomfortable surface any human has had the misfortune of lying on and the room has a disconcerting moldy smell. The room description on the website is a egregious exaggeration and we paid $1000.00 for a two night stay. Which is way overpriced for what it is! There was a hockey tournament adjacent to the resort and they overran the place - and this includes dominating the public spaces and running throughout the resort; on several occasions knocking on our door at night and running away, throwing ice at doors etc. We called Security multiple times because of this- they had multiple other complaints. To say the least, our daughter was very unsettled because of this and no one slept well. One restaurant is open - that is it. No pub, bar - anything. Massage/spa services - unavailable. If you want to be the resort of tournaments, dance competitions etc - fine - be that. But do not take 1000.00 of my money and not let me know about that ahead of time. Do not rob me of the enjoyment of any amenities as they are either overrun or not open. Be transparent and upon booking let us know the condition and tone of the resort. To do otherwise, is shambolic. We are extremely disappointed by this resort and do not recommend it!
The resort has potential but it fell short of our minimal expectations. 1. The arcade/pool/mini putt closes way too early 7/8pm during the week and 8/9 pm weekends. That leaves you with bored kids and nowhere to go. Also nowhere for adults to go either restaurants and lounge are not open. 2. The food is sub-par. Our breakfasts and dinners were included in the package we paid for and after the first morning's breakfast, we didn't even use the free vouchers for the remaining days, that's how bad the breakfast was. Unfortunately the dinners were no better. Two of us got sick after the first night dinner and while I can't say for certain it was the food, it seems unlikely it was any other cause. 3. No microwaves/smart TVs in the rooms. These are standard in hotels and at this price should be a given. I will say the staff was great, every interaction in the arcade/pool/mini putt/ restaurants was professional and firendly. The rooms were dated but comfortable. It's a shame that the food and entertainment options are the way they are. This could be a great getaway for families if the resort would make some changes. Unfortunately for the premium price they are charging, it fell short.
My partner and I stayed at the resort for two nights for a wedding. The room was updated and the bed was comfortable. The view from the room was lovely. I used the whirlpool in the recreation facility, and that was also nice. The food in the restaurant was okay; we were there for one dinner and a breakfast. The quality of food served for the wedding dinner was better than the restaurant. In terms of service from the front desk, I recommend that the team receives training on how to speak to people with disabilities. The first lesson is that not all disabilities are visible. Guests should absolutely not be called out or mocked because they request assistance but don't have a visible disability. The phrasing used by ML when we checked out in the morning after asking for assistance the previous night was, "I just thought it was funny because when you called, you mentioned you were disabled, and the person who took your call was *actually* disabled, so it was just funny I got there and I was like, 'yeah, they're not disabled, they're just sitting on the floor'." I tried to be gentle with my words when I reminded ML that not all disabilities are immediately visible, and that perhaps he didn't notice my partner's cane. Furthermore, anyone requesting assistance should not have to justify the need. This experience soured an otherwise pleasant weekend. After the incident with the front desk, I did receive a profuse apology from the person involved and the duty manager. Breakfast for my partner and I was complimentary, which was a nice gesture. However, given the amount spent on the room for two days and the size of the party with which we booked, the apologies and gesture seemed like the absolute minimum. I doubt we'll ever have reason to stay again. Overall, it was fine.
Service in the dining room was poor. It was very slow even though there were only two tables seated when we arrived. Reservations were mandatory for any meal at any time of the day. Service was very slow. Food was average at best. No room service. No tea in the rooms so if you're not a coffee drinker, you're out of luck. The water was shut off between midnight and 6am for servicing but we weren't told that when making the reservation. We only found out at check in. When the water was turned back on, it ran brown. On the plus side the staff was very friendly, the beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and spacious.
We spent a nice weekend with our kids and grandkids at the Inn. The pool and water slide were a great hit as were the mini put and and arcade. The food was delicious but the meals were very large. The staff were helpful and clearly determined to make sure our stay was the best it could be.Rooms: 5/5
