A beautiful church very ornately decorated inside a bit too ornately to the point of decadence. No signage indicating it's history or specific branch of Christianity. Well worth walking in for a short visit.
We are so happy to get the opportunity to visit this beautiful and amazing looking Cathedral-Basilica of Notre-Dame de Québec Cathedral La Basilique, located in the heart of Old Québec during our trip to Quebec City. It is recognized as a historic monument and designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We felt calm and peaceful sitting quietly inside and appreciate the beauty of the cathedral. The architecture is truly stunning. We enjoyed our experience here very much.
Very beautiful church. It’s a free entry unlike Notre-Basilica church in Montreal. Peaceful and you can have a seat and pray.
Made it to the noon mass here after our train ride, a little bit of a trek up the hill, but definitely worth the journey for the oldest parish in North America. The stained glass is especially vibrant. There is a saint entombed here, and the only holy door in outside Europe! The LED screens on all the columns are quite detracting from the sanctuary’s exceptional beauty and atmosphere in my opinion. Otherwise this is a beautiful sanctuary, so thankful it's preserved for our enjoyment and worship. The priest was very friendly at mass and offered confession afterwards. Jesus showed up!
A very pretty basilica both outside and inside. There is a nice imposing sense of power and peace, beauty and light. It's a very bright basilica, and it was interesting to take a walk inside to see the architecture and art within.
