I wish I had a good review for this bakery. We tried 3 different kinds of cupcakes, all 3 were dry and tasted like they were previously frozen for a couple days. The icing was hard and flavourless. We also tried the oat fudge bars but they were also really dry, flavourless and tasted like they were made a week ago. I think they should look into the quality of the product. This bakery seems like it is more for commercial based customers who need larger orders or bulk orders and not a bakery for fresh public walk-ins. Highly disappointed if I’m honest.
This place is a CB gem. I've had so many great experiences here including my own birthday cake and my parents 50th anniversary cake. Their bakes and creativity are consistently amazing and the team are just wonderful. This is the SWEET spot on the island. NOTHING COMPARES.
The cake I bought looked great, but tasted weird. Unbelievably dense cake, sickly sweet icing, and a chocolate sauce on the inside that had a weird chemical-y aftertaste that I am still burping up. I wish I could say that this was maybe a one-off, but I tried an iced shortbread cookie from the shop, and that tasted bizarre as well. It was not $60 well spent.
I ordered a signature cake for my daughters 5th birthday and Tarra and her staff did not disappoint! The cake was not only beautiful but it tasted like heaven I highly recommend Not Just Cakes for any event, you'll be glad you did!
Honestly love this place, they are the reason I enjoy eating cakes. I have stomach issues and can’t eat chocolate or certain type of cakes but they offer so many flavours and types, my personal favourite is the cookies and cream. They are best for custom cakes as well.
I luckily found this gem of a bakery. If you happen to be looking for an incredibly delicious cake, look no further. Some may think the price is a tad high but not really. This is quality, top quality and worth every penny. This is a go to place. You have to go!
The macaroon shaped rocks look great. Don't make the same mistake I did by eating a couple. Shop looks great. But you need to make some adjustments to the quality of product.
I ordered a gluten free cake for my daughter and son-in-law's 25th anniversary. We were very disappointed with the cake; we found it to be very dry and it had a thick burnt crust. The icing was a hit, although some family members found it extremely sweet and could not eat it. I ordered from your shop because of a positive comment I had rec'd, however I will not be buying another cake from you.
I ordered the strawberry cheesecake for my sister and it was soooooooo sickly sweet. I was hoping for something a little less sweet that had fruit and cream cheese icing but there was barely any strawberries in it, the icing tasted more like buttercream than cream cheese, and was super grainy with sugar. I had to take most of the icing off my cake, as did the four other people at the dinner. Overall it was a very sickly sweet vanilla cake with like 4-5 strawberries between the layers. Not a terrible cake overall, but definitely not what I expected when I ordered. Very very beautiful but won't order again unfortunately. I don't like sharing bad reviews especially for local small businesses!, and I think this place does have great cakes if you want something super duper sweet, but wanted to give a fair warning to other patrons that even the fruit based cakes are super duper sweet and to keep that in mind when ordering.
