Nice and new environment. The equipment in the playground are designed and suited for each and every ranges of children age. The difference with other playground is the safety. I recommend it a lot and my one year old daughter enjoyed her time a lot.
It’s a lovely and warm place. The facilities are well maintained, staff are friendly and very helpful. A lot of activities to participate in.
A nice community centre that has a fitness centre, swimming pool, and several indoor courts. It is also connected to a small library with an outdoor patio. The area around the building is nice too, it has a park with a splash pad and tennis courts. Overall, it's a nice area to do some activities, take a walk or spend some time with the family.
This is our local community recreation centre. Been going here since the building first opened. Both my kids learned to swim here. Also did camp here. The outdoor water park and playground is also excellent. The place is kept clean. Plenty of parking. Fantastic library too.
North Thornhill is one of the most recently built community centres in the area and the entrance atrium is beautiful, with coloured panes of glass which reflect the light all year round. The pool is on the right as you come in, and I do aqua fit there regularly. The instructors are fantastic, the pool temperature is just right and there is a spacious hot tub as well as a children's splash/shallow pool. There areas where people play table-tennis, a swimming pool gallery, a basketball court and a small, but well-equipped gym, where small spinning and other classes are held in studios attached. The gym changing rooms are good but the whole place is badly let down by the changing areas in general - all of them. In the women's and family rooms there are only THREE private cubicles IN TOTAL none in the women's room!, which is totally inadequate. The showers for full/gym members are fine as they can be switched on and the temperature controlled, but in the women's and family change areas they come on by faulty sensor, the shower head can't be moved and jets of water switch off after TWO seconds - hopeless for showing and also likely to get you and your towel soaking wet if you are daft enough to try and put it on in the cubicle. Goodness knows what the planners of this place were thinking either in the main changing rooms, there have been too many slips and falls to count as the tiles are too large and shouldn't have been put down. Everyone knows I thought that you have to have small, mosaic-like tiles where people are walking around water, to avoid slips and trips. Apparently, no one told the construction workers at North Thornhill and this must be changed before there is an even more serious accident, or even a death, there. On a more positive point, the desk and management staff there are absolutely great, as are the gym staff - you couldn't wish for a nicer team of people to look after you at this community centre.
It's a beautiful place. Nice people. I wish these was no cannabis smell.
Attended this place for children swimming lesson. My child sat for 20 minutes on ledge before even jumping in the water. Not impressed with the lesson at all. The facility is nice and clean that’s about it.
The swimming pool is absolutely great, but very hard to find a spot. It is usually full one week in advance. Why is cancelation blocked within 24 hours? If something comes up, someone else can take advantage of the spot. This is not an activity that cannot be decided upon the same day. If someone books a spot and cannot make it the day of, it should be available for someone else.
This outdoor rink is definitely A-ok! There is a HUGE parking lot with a well lit pathway leading to the outdoor rink. When you arrive at the change area, you check-in with security to ensure you have booked the correct time slot cannot have more than 25 skaters at any one time. The change area is separate into 6 tables to slap on your skates and enjoy the well groomed surface. The rink is more a square than the typical recto-oval we are all too familiar with. The organic nature this rink takes on, slight incline from the entrance to the natural obstacle course of bumps adds to the overall feel when enjoying the fresh air as you are doing laps and hit the unsuspecting speed bump to wake you up a bit. The staff are very friendly and love the high tech Zamboni that is deployed at the end of each 45 minute skating interval
A great place to bring your kids to the playground to play and the facility has pretty much everything from a gym, swimming pool, court to play sports, and a library.
