North Star Bar

I visited here on December 15th with some colleagues. I paid a $2 tip on a $5 drink. I tried making small talk with the bartender/owner? by asking him about how to get my band to play a show there since they didn't respond to my email a couple weeks prior. He basically told me to kick rocks. I asked him again after buying another drink, and he said "I'll get back to you." Well it's been a week and you still haven't gotten back to me. Not that we would want to play at this toxic waste dump anyway. The bathrooms were grimy, the drinks were awful, and the vibe was seedy at best. I wonder how many of these positive reviews are fake.

looking for a fun place while visiting mayo. found it... great happy hour and good amount of pool tables, just what my wife and i were looking for to take or mind off things... check it out if you want some chill fun!!!

Great staff, good people. Only place left in town that regularly Friday and Satuurday nights has live music.

Nice place, a smile would help but you know, sometimes I think it's par for the course in a dive bar. Actually I'm not sure it's actually a dive bar but at least it's not pretentious, that means a lot!!

The biggest reason for this night club is mainly a "Live Band" on FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS. Another big reason for me is Mn. Sratch off selection is greatplus, they got computer gambling for big payouts & they got1/2 Dozen pulltab Grand Mast er Machines from $ 100. 00-$1,000 dollar jackpots. Another reason to be honest, is on the Live Band week/ Ends-FRIDAY& SATURDAY NIGHTS; THERE IS ALOT OF GOODLOOKING WOMEN& THEY ARE DANCING & BUSTING A MOVE. The people that work there are courteous & attentive to my needs.

They had a great band when we went a few weeks ago and people watching was at a peak. The place was packed. It is beyond filthy. I felt like I needed a penicillin shot after regretfully having to use the restroom.

I like this bar, the drinks are very cheap for Rochester, plus they open early. So, if you are looking to start early, this is the place to be! There isn't any food here, so eat before you come. There are live performances every weekend AND, if you come before the band starts you can drink 50 cent beers. It isn't the cleanest bar in town, but it sure is a good time.

Best sounding bar in Rochester. Not a fan of the pool tables and bathrooms. Cheap drinks. Good crowds for the bands usually.

I was visiting Rochester, and found this place by searching "bars near me". It was a bit out of my way, but seemed more my speed didn't want to deal with the younger crowd. Totally worth the extra blocks to walk. Giant glasses of beer, friendly bartender, friendly patrons, and plenty of pool tables. It didn't take long to feel like a regular.

We visited while we were waiting for a family member's surgery to finish and it was a great place to pass the time.
