Very very authentic Mexican restaurant. I was gushing throughout. What is not to love about this restaurant? Pros: Authentic and delicious mexican meals, wonderful service, spanish music in the background, warm reception and service by staff, good price, proximity to work, and I can just continue. Cons: None that I can think of.... Maybe parking if it is a busy period. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will be going back there a couple of times as I plan to taste everything on the menu at least once. You should do too.
We enjoyed our lunch here - tried chicken and pork tacos, the corn side, and a bean quesadilla. I would have preferred more cheese and fewer beans- but you definitely get a lot of food and wouldn't go hungry! The green and red salsa were delish!
Heard many good things leading up to my first visit to the Taqueria and they didn't disappoint! Great selection of homemade food items at a very reasonable price. And if you're thirsty, the Taqueria is licenced with a small selection of beers. You gotta eat here if you like sweet, spice and everything nice....deeeeelicious and highly recommend!
It’s soo good!! We got the birria tacos, taquitos, and various tacos. The corn tortilla is made in house and everything was so flavourful. Definitely not spicy at all LOL
good food at a reasonable price . Less than 20 minutes to pick up at rush hour. Wish I knew there’s a little new side menu but oh well : next time. Thank you
It's always tricky to find authentic flavour when a resturant is advertised as mexican and ends up being a low key Taco Bell/Taco Time, and if you ever tasted real mexican food, you know that is far from it. So, it was a very wonderful suprise when my tacos were brought to the table and I took the first bite. First of all, those are hand made tortillas, not super thin, not super thick, just perfect. Then, the pork carnitas. Omg. So damn good! I ordered one taco of tinga chicken too and I wasn't disappointed. So much flavour, so juicy, and with the salsas, cilantro, onion and lime... Made my saturday. I'll definitely come back!
It was super good, authentic Mexican food and the alot of the menu has Spanish names. It's not super expensive for what you get either. The tacos have a lot of meat and it's good portions. There is a bar outdoors where they make the drinks, the drink menu is a little selective and q bit more costly but still well made. 5 stars for me!
Hidden Gem in Thunder Bay. Authentic Taqueria. Order: Birria Tacos, A plantain dish forgot the name. Got a jarritos to drink. Location: I was just stopping by in thunder Bay so I don't know where this is in relation to the city. I found it from Google. However it is a nice little restaurant with a nice patio. 4/5 Service: I think it was the owner or manager of the restaurant that took my order? She was awesome. The service is great. Everyone is friendly and were prompt with orders. 5/5 Value: excellent value for what you're getting. High quality fresh food at a low price. High quality dinner for $20 something, are u kidding me? Can't beat that. 5/5 Taste: My girlfriend is Mexican from Mexico. I know what good Mexican food tastes like. I did not expect thunder bay to have Birria tacos and delicious ones too. It was so good, my friends told me to bring them some when they saw it on my IG. I was travelling. They made a 4 hour trip. Reheat in air fryer still amazing. They can hold their own against some from Mexico and LA. 5/5 Overall: outstanding tacos. If I am ever in Thunder Bay, I will definitely come back. I will have to tell my friends who live in Thunder Bay about this place if they don't know by now. Many of them live and work in Thunder Bay but always fly back to Toronto. 5/5
Finally! Mexican cuisine in Thunder Bay. I say finally because I just found Norteños Taqueria. Apparently it’s been around for a bit now. What can I say? I’m generally the guy that’s always late to the party. In my defense, I have been living a secluded life for the last few years. I have never been to Mexico yet, but I'm confident that I now know what authentic Mexican food tastes like without having to leave Thunder Bay. Word around the campfire is that the owners of this place actually lived in Mexico as their craft was perfected. I don’t know if that is confirmed or if it is all just hearsay. My taste buds are telling me that it is absolute fact. There are also gluten-free options if that’s the kind of thing that blows your hair back these days. Staff was very friendly and informative for a first timer like myself. Both flavors of the homemade salsa are delicious, with just a little kick to it. Quesadillas, Taquitos, Tacos, Tortas and Tostadas. That’s quite a few reasons for me to go back right there, and I very much look forward to my next visit. Keep up the great work!
Honestly a must-try. The food is incredible and the staff is super nice and helpful. Great options for vegetarians as well! The menu is the perfect size for variety, but not too many options to overwhelm you. I've never been disappointed by anything I've had. I've tried each spice level and they all deliver. Mild is still flavourful and delicious without the spice, medium is perfect to start with as it's very manageable, and hot isn't crazy but it gives that satisfying heat. For top recommendations: quesadillas and tostadas! *chefs kiss*
