I regret enrolling at NorQuest. The quality of education was far below expectations, and many instructors lacked the knowledge or teaching skills needed. There’s little support for students, especially when it comes to career help or finding jobs after graduation. It feels like they care more about collecting tuition than actually helping students succeed. If you’re looking for real value or opportunities, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
I am extremely disappointed and truly regret returning to NorQuest. Some instructors seem to lack proper training and effective teaching skills. Additionally, the faculty appears dismissive of student concerns. One major issue is the use of ProctorU for online exams—this platform is not covered under tuition, requiring students to pay an extra $23 out-of-pocket. Many other institutions do not charge their students for such services, making this policy feel unfair and burdensome. I have sent several emails complaining about an instructor , and all they have done is to dismiss and ignore my complaints.
I feel like Norquest collage throws “Treaty Six” and whatever stuff for show. Yes they may have outlets for certain things but as an Indigenous person I feel like they wasted a lot of my time.nnI also feel like they misinformed me on 90% of my enrolment process. I waited hour and half for an online meeting just to not get into the online meeting.nnI book a test exam and they just changed the date without asking me if that day worked for me, on top of it they never even said what kind of mathematics I’d have to preform. Didn’t inform me I couldn’t use my own calculator either so I’m going into a test blind without any knowledge on what I have to preform. I even went in early a few days before to figure out there process on it.nnI went in to get enrolled to get my Highschool diploma and I’m only missing my social studies 30 and part of the enrolment process was to take a math test when I already have my math 30. I believe that they should have better tests instead for that enrolment process. Why do I need to preform mathematics for a Social Studies class?nnNot to sound bitter but as a young Indigenous man why should I have to pay an outstanding amount of money for a course when international students pay less for their post secondary at other colleges?nnDo I have to show up to them my qualifications, transcripts and status card to get treated better?nnI was excited when I first got my student ID number but after that I felt like a email battle and when I got into the collage I felt like a lot of it was all for show. I’m glad they offered indigenous student food because a lot of us can’t afford meals I’ll say that though.nnMaybe other people have had better experiences but I felt like I got the short end of the stick. If they change a few things I’d wait and give them a better review but for anyone who is trying to get there upgrading maybe check out metro where it is more affordable.nnI hate leaving bad reviews but I also feel like young adults who want to better themselves should see what I had to go through.nnThanks for anyone at the college who sees this and thinks “Hey? Maybe this student really wants to further his education and make the process a little more suitable.”
Year ago I graduated from the Medical Office Assistant MOA program, and when it came time for the graduation ceremony, I was left out with no clear communication or proper explanation. I didn’t feel seen or respected as a student. That was already upsetting.nnA year after, I applied and got accepted into the Practical Nurse program, and the same thing is happening again. I chose full-time, thinking there would be structure and teacher support. No one ever explained that “Online Anytime” means fully self-paced with little guidance, and that I’d have to manage everything alone. I found out way too late, and now I feel stuck in a program I didn’t ask for.nnNot every student can succeed in an independent format, and NorQuest should be way more clear about what each program actually looks like. These are people’s futures, it’s not okay to mislead or leave students in the dark.nnI hope the college takes student communication more seriously going forward.
I just completed one term in the LINK program.nI am very pleased with my result. Great teacher Jesse! We, all the group of students, were very lucky to have a such teacher. He taught us a lot. Yes, there were students among us who worked a lot and had little time for homework. It was more difficult for them. But without independent work there will be no progress in learning.nSo, thank you very much to the college! Almost everything was great. The only thing at the beginning was a misunderstanding with the classrooms. As for the rest, I really liked it. Learning, and volunteering, and the opportunity to take professional training for free!nI continue to study at the next level.nThanks Jesse! Thank you, Linda and Paul, Natalia and everyone at the college. Guys, you are great!
