Went in a group of 4 people to try, and everything tasted lovely, with the fiddleheads and the pasta with “sea snails” being my favourites. However, the portions for the pasta were much smaller than we expected. We were told sharing everything would be a good idea, and we ordered 2 antipasti, 3 half orders of pasta and 2 secondis. The pasta being ~$19 per half portion, which ended up being 1 mouthful per person when shared, felt like too small for the price paid. I feel like dinner almost felt like tapas, small portions to share, rather than the typical family style sharing of food I expected when told at the beginning of the meal that sharing was recommended. Again, everything tasted delicious, I just wish that the portions were more substantial, or that I had a better idea of the portions sizes prior to coming.
Everything we ordered were definitely very good, although some were a little underwhelming. Maybe I had set my expectations too high to start with. The pastas were cooked on points but the sauces flavour could be a little lacking. The rabbit was a little dry, and lacks some seasoning for my taste. In overall, we did enjoy our experience and did not regret trying but the food wasn’t mind blowing, and definitely erred on the more expensive range.
Visiting Nora Grey in a hip neighbourhood of Montreal was truly a delight! The quaint atmosphere adds to the charming ambience and kept us feeling relaxed throughout our meal. Every dish is cooked with fresh, seasonal ingredients - from the delicious pasta to the succulent scallops - it was hard not to be impressed by their drool-worthy menu. The staff are both attentive and kind, so all requests were sorted promptly and with plenty of smiles! And for all you wine lovers out there, Nora Grey's great selection of wines is sure to tantalise your taste buds. Overall, this hidden gem has been a joy for us and we'll certainly be back for more yummy Italian cuisine!
I am so happy we were able to get in here. This meal was possibly one of the best meals I have ever had! Our server was simply perfect! She guided us through our courses and helped us pick out the best wine I have ever tasted. She was warm and friendly and was part of the family by the end of the meal. The guinea fowl meatballs were so good and the rib steak for 2 was one of the best meals I have put in my body! This little gem off the beaten path is a must go when in Canada! We were also able to try the duck breast, which we were informed that the chef went to a farm to pick up the day before! It was absolutely heavenly!
Nora Grey did not disappoint! A few years back I had dinner here and was unimpressed.. food was salty and overdone. That said, friend convinced me to give it another try and wow just wow… still craving the pasta main! The appetizers were delicious, recommend the crudo; we both had the ravioli with peas so on point! and both deserts were impeccable the profiterole was flaky and melted in my mouth. The Sommelier was young but knowledgeable and recommended a great wine. I will be back - I guess it is worth it give a place a second try!
Great little spot for a romantic date, we had the ribeye steak for 2, huge portions and really delicious. The waitress didn't ask us how we want our steak and it was rare, would have been better if they asked. Drink was great too
I had reservations on a Saturday night. Table at the bar was ready for us when we got there. Parking was easy to find on the street. We found that at the very beginning the service was slow to take our drink order, but after that there were no issues. We ordered 2 mixed drinks, the asparagus lobster appetizer, pasta with calimari, the massive t-bone steak with polenta, and then ice cream. Everything was fenomenal. The t-bone steak with polenta was our favorite. The ice cream was off the charts we got one scoop olive oil and one scoop espresso. I would definitely go back again.
Very cozy and beautiful restaurant. The food was also exceptionally great made with fresh ingredients. The steak was huge and I think can definitely be shared by more than two people. Lovely cocktails and deserts. Staff were friendly and attentive. Reservations are recommended.
A cozy neighbourhood restaurant. very chic in my opinion, from the decor to the dinnerware. the service was thoughtful. the food delicious, especially the zucchini flowers and the tortellini. if you like your fish well done- mention it. Be prepared to eat well and $$$. would go back.
Exquisite & quaint restaurant featuring Italian cuisine. The staff were all friendly and patient and made on point recommendations. Stand out dish was the roasted quail, however everything else was also delicious. I will definitely make a point to return to this gem whenever I am back in town.
