I visited this place for the second time this summer. Absolutely recommended for adults and families with children. Explore the traditional ways of living of the aboriginal peoples of Okanagan valley. Learn about their history and culture. Walk the real desert and take some scenic pictures. Visit the souvenir shop and support local artists. There is a large parking available, washrooms and everything you might need. Make sure you arrive no later than 2:30-3pm because the museum closes at 4 p.m. and you might not have enough time. One thing I would like to mention. There are several information signs that are pretty worn out and faded. This makes self-guided tours pretty limited
They have hiking trails short hikes, a continuous show throughout the day, and talks about native snakes of the area. Saw a baby snake on the trail. Restaurant, a hotel with an outdoor swimming pool and a winery. I only had one day to explore, will come back again. Very friendly staff and informative.
A must to visit, a beautiful nature walk, creat cultural centre, great restaurant and Winery. Beautifully designed resort.
Small but educational exhibition, the loop trail is also a nice feature, especially in the morning sun.
This is a beautiful place showcasing local indigenous culture. The seeing is spectacular and the building is beautiful. They have this and other activities at set times, though that may be seasonal. We only had a short amount of time because we arrived late. It is definitely worth a visit though, but arrive earlier to take full advantage, especially if they have events or yours going on. I believe when we were there they were offering guided tours and some kind of snakes thing! There are snakes in the area including rattle snakes..
Learned a lot about the culture. Admission is by donation but I think they should charge a set price because the information is very valuable. We were greeted by "Guitar Player" who had a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommended
I learned so much here. 1 a short and manageable trial with spectacular and educational signs along the way. Watch out for snakes but do not freak out 2 I was able to attend their snake program and learned so much about snakes - different types of snakes in BC, snakes animal behaviors as a species, and what to do if you get a snake bite - overall I learned a ton and definitely decreased my stigma and fear towards snakes 3 I have so much appreciation for Okanagan after visiting the center - it showed respect to the Aboriginal people, which is something that regular tourists tend to ignore when we visit the Okanagan for the wineries and beautiful lakes. I highly recommend this as a stop if you decide to visit.
Peaceful and enchanting. Wonderful place to visit with family. Educational and unique. Whether it's the sage, ponderosa pine, or the vibrant wildlife birds, bugs, bighorn sheep, horses, etc., the Nk'mip pronounced inkameep desert is a special place on sacred land. Enjoy the scenic views and beautiful hiking trail. Oh, and don't forget to visit the winery for some delicious samples on your way out! The ice wine is fantastic.
Very interactive experience. A large part of the cultural centre is outdoors. It really gave us an idea of what life was like. We even saw a group of deer. Highly recommend it!
This is a must see in Osoyoos, nice trails, great view, and so much to learn. We really enjoyed it.
