The food was good and I'll most likely go again but not monthly as I don't like to eat at desi restaurants. The ambiance isn't fancy but it's not a bad place either. We ordered nehari, mutton Biryani, seekh kabob, karahi gosht and naan - quantity was enough for 4 hungry adults. The food is a little pricey!
Nihari Cafe has one good thing, nihari. But if you ever even think about getting the korma, you're making a big mistake. The customer service was atrocious. It took 40 minutes to make the food. They didn't even pass out the plates. The water tasted bad, and when we asked for a water change and the waiter poured the water into the jug on our table, and then mixed up every cup. We ordered Mutton Korma, but were later told it wasn't being served. To top it all off, we were charged 18% gratuity for the worst customer service I've ever experienced. 18%!? This isn't even a classy place where gratuity can be charged, let alone deserved. Anyways, if you're feeling brave to try this place anyways, I wish you luck.
The place isn't very clean, you can see the dirt on the backs of the sofa chairs, and when they put the plates on the table it had old food stuck to it. Poor customer service, the guys who take your order don't actually speak or say anything, they didn't smile even once the whole time we were there. Really Dull & gloomy atmosphere & vibe The Nihari had no spice at all, the balance of the flavors/spices were off & there was something sweet in there that made it the opposite of what nihari should be . It tastes more like a dessert then dinner & the biryani was subpar. Not authentic Pakistani food.
The food quality is average however staff is very rude and non-courteous. I have been there many times in the past. The food quality is worsening day by day, They stopped giving salad, the naan getting half/baked. Worst of all bathroom is dirtiest ever I have seen in any ethnic restaurant. Bottom line: not worth of your money or time.
it's good place to try for authentic punjabi flavors. The must try IF THEY ARE AVAILABLE, Haleem, Nihari, Chappli Kabab, and tikka. This place is small and not so great for parties. some dishes are great, but are not always on the menu, price is average. family of 6 end up spending about $80. I have had some food under cooked
Don't let the atmosphere fool you. Probably one of the most authentic sub-continent places I have eaten at in a long time. The spices are truly the real deal. My mouth is doing a happy dance. They have biryani rice that can be substituted for white.
Nihari was decent but Naan needs lot of improvement. Nihari had very little meat and is too pricey. Naan was not cooked correctly and had under cook patches. Kindly bring down your prices so that they are comparable to Toronto and Chicago area restaurants. Also by adding a piece of meat will make a big difference.
Nehari cafe is a great place if you would like to have authentic Pakistani food. I personally like the Nehari and the seekh kabab.Biryani is also available for both chicken and goat. Prices are moderate and the owners are know muslims. ** place is permanently closed**
This is the worst experience I have had ordering from a restaurant, these people are cheaters. I ordered 4 trays of chicken and Lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, and butter chicken only to come home to realize that the trays weren't even half full. I called them to complain about this and the owner stated that if I wanted more, I would have to pay extra, even though when I ordered , they asked for the full payment of the order and I payed it without negotiation. Does anybody know where I can file a real complaint about this place?
Food is absolutely amazing. Authentic Pakistani food. However, ambience and service is poor. They also include the tip 20% in their final bill and tell you that in the end.
