Glad to see that things are improving. I had a 9:30am appointment for passport renewal. Expecting the usual time wastage, I arrived at 9am and planned my return train trip for 2:30pm. However, I was very pleased when the entire process was completed in under 30 minutes. I was told to expect the new passport in the mail in 4-6 weeks. Good job!nnUpdate: I received my new and expired passports in the mail today, 4 weeks after the visit. Kudos!
On this day of 8th December 2025, it was great.nMy appointment was 12pm, in 15mins, I was done.nMy advice will be that a very visible or responsive instruction be available when you check in through the security. Maybe it didn't happen because we were less than 20 persons and it was manageable???nI must confess that the toilets was clean, but our embassy needs some make over, very soon.nLastly, the gentlemen were extremely gentlemen, kudos
I submitted my passport renewal application over five months ago and, despite multiple follow-ups, I have not received any update or guidance from the Ottawa office. I have tried contacting the Embassy repeatedly and even requested an in-person visit, but the lack of response has left me extremely frustrated and uncertain about next steps. I have met all requirements and simply need clarity on the status of my application. I hope this review prompts timely communication and improved support for applicants experiencing long delays.
I renewed my passport using the contactless system.nnAlthough there were minor issues with the biometric capture and payment process on the NIS app, the overall experience was good, after payment I mailed my old passport on the 8th nov to the embassy and received my new passport on 25th nov… so I would say that was efficient.nnThe process was quite expensive though.
I traveled with my family from NB to Ottawa over 2 months ago now for my passport renewal. We haven't received our passports up till today. My husband and one of my children does not even have any updates yet on their profiles. There is no way to follow-up on our applications, not even to find out if additional information is required. We are just kept in the dark wondering what else we can do
