This is an ideal family restaurant with a neat retro decor. Smoked meat is the specialty, but they have great burgers, salads and poutine, along with milkshakes, sundaes and strawberry cheese cake! I love the booth seating. And the staff was super-friendly.
Food was good. Eveything was good . I give it 5 stars.
Good service. Their hashbrowns are very good. I normally use ketchup, but not with these hashbrowns. It's unfortunate adults can't order from the kids menu a personal preference for portioning myself... try to lose weight.... but why does food have to be so good lol
Good food, reasonable prices and nice service. Excellent smoked meat, good pizza and good burgers. Overall, a good diner with something for everyone. Desserts are delicious. If you like chocolate cake, be sure to order the"Celine". It's my favorite!
Food not fresh. Returned my plate without eating and the manager still was going to charge me. He was busy sitting at the bar drinking his beer. I went to talk to him and explain about how terrible my food was. Did not care, just interested in drinking his beer. I told him I was not going to pay for something I did not eat. He then turned around and said that he would give me 50% off the next plate. By that time my partner already had finished his food. He didn't enjoy his meal either. Do not go to this restaurant. St-Hubert was next door and they had FRESH FOOD and THE SERVICE IS MUCH FRIENDLIER
Hmm Please seat yourself comfortably. Atmosphere: Diner style. Mostly elderly people there. Colourful and bright with lots of windows. Nothing bad to say. Service: Our server Claudette was nice to start with, bringing me my desired grapefruit juice after initially telling me there's none there. A good surprise. What followed after was confusion. Claudette yelling in french about my order to my breakfast partner assuming that I didn't understand French, and acting frustrated with me in front of me. Perhaps the language barrier was an issue, but the barrier was minimal, and unfriendly attitude from a server sure spoils a good restaurant experience, hence this review. I had asked for a garden salad to start with and spinach crepes for after. She didn't understand the second part, so I pointed out the crepes on the menu. No problem! Then, I asked for a side of olive oil to go with the salad. No problem! Salad arrives "dry". No dressing in it as is described on the menu. Had to wave the server down for 5 min to ask where the dressing is. Claudette replied there's none that comes in the salad and besides, I have a side of olive oil on the table. Attitude rising. I asked to see the menu. Few more minutes go by, menu arrives, I point out to her nicely that the salad does indeed have a dressing and to please bring the dressing. Waiting, waiting, waiting. My breakfast partner has chomped down half their breakfast while I'm still trying to get a simple garden salad right. Dressing arrived on the side. Spinach crepes arrive simultaneously with my garden salad btw. I remember asking for crepes for "after", salad first, then crepes. The crepes were the wrong ones, blueberry. I tell our server I didnt order the blueberry ones, sorry. She seems agitated "But you pointed to the blueberry ones! " she says. So, I ask to see the menu AGAIN, to see where I pointed to. More waiting. The blueberry ones were on the crepe list directly above the spinach ones, but it was not my mistake pointing at the wrong ones. Here comes the server's attitude. She grabs the blueberry plate and storms away from the table. But before she does, she leans over the table to my partner sitting across from me, her head less than one foot away from mine, and starts discussing in french how i ordered and that she brought me what i ordered. It did not need to be so close to my ear. I wish I was proficient enough in french to interrupt her and explain that I basically didn't order anything complicated. Spinach crepes arrive. "Is this what you wanted??" Server asked. I looked at the crepes and wanted to say nobecause they looked awful, see below, but if that's how the spinach crepes are created there so be it and I had to say "sure, if those are the spinach crepes, ok". My breakfast companion ordered milk with their food, which arrived at the end of the meal, after having to prompt the server once or twice for the glass of milk. Food: Cheddar and Spinach crepes. RUN. The spinach is just steamed spinach leaves tossed on top and somewhere in between the pancake-style crepes. The "cheddar" is the "cheese" that comes in little peelable squares that ooze into your food. The little squares were placed on top of the pile of crepes and again, somewhere in between the crepes. I had to scrape all the cheese off immediately with my fork since this is not the"cheese" I was hoping for. My mistake. Better ask first what kind of cheese they serve there before ordering. In short I munched on a little pile of fluffy pancake-style crepes with a side of mushy spinach, for $9.50. The "toast and cheese" is tears for your eyes. Plain white toast, dry, with those cold peelable "cheese" squares made of plastic and msg slapped on top. 2$. Enjoy!
Delicious hamburger friendly service and environment
Awesome breakfast experience. Ask for a seat with the valley view. On second thought, don't ask for it- I want it!
Service was friendly and fast. With tip and taxes, only a little more expensive than fast food. The decor hasn't been updated in a long time.
This was the first place I visited coming into town. Really great breakfast options and the staff was very friendly. I love the nostalgic feel of this Diner.
