The only thing that has changed about this place since I was a kid is the prices. It's a classic diner, with massive portions of comfort food. It's the perfect place to fill up after a long day of hiking or exploring. Also, pro tip. Add cheese curds to the hot turkey sandwich to make turkey sandwich poutine.
We went here for breakfast and it did not disappoint! Delicious food, great portion sizes, and the price wasn't too bad compared to other places. I got the eggs benedict, and it was so tasty. Quick, efficient, and friendly service.
Decent food. Only complaint is price has risen considerably. 16$-17$ average for any dish here now, so being your wallet. 16x4 + 15%tax, roughly 80$ if you include a small tip.
Very friendly staff, food was good, and came out pretty quick. Server forgot to give us sugar and cream for the coffee, and my milkshake had big lumps of vanilla ice cream in it. Overall was very good though.Food: 4/5
The staff were nice, and made sure everyone had the right meal. The food was very good, and the staff checked on us throughout the meal to see if we needed anything, and to see how everything was. Would eat there again for sure.Food: 5/5
Probably the worst fish and chips I've had in a long time. The fish was two pieces of over cooked batter with tiny pieces of fish inside. The fries were cold and soggy. Service was great and the coffee was great as well .Food: 1/5
Amazing food. Make sure you are good and hungry. Parking: Hungry Man Poutine was amazing but huge !!!
Staff is great this poor lady lost her gift card in the seat they took it apart and retrieve it for her but that’s the Nova Scotia way. Food is always awesome and quick great place to eat and socializeRecommended dishesBurger & Fries, Fish and Chips, Gravy
Nice experience. Although we have eaten at most restaurants around the valley we have always kind of overlooked the Big Stop in New Minas. A family member ate there and got the fish and chips and was extremely impressed with the huge portion and freshness of the fish so decided to grab supper there. There is lots of great items on the menu and many great "home cooked country meal" options which I love. I got the roast turkey dinner and my other half got the breakfast skillet. We both very much enjoyed our meals. The service was great, lots of staff to look after everyone which was good to see, they were all very friendly and our waitress was very knowledgeable when notifying her of a peanut allergy. We got our food about 10-15min after ordering which was very good. Didn't order dessert but after peering into the dessert fridge on the way out and seeing the beautiful pies, cheese cakes etc... Kind of regretted not ordering... but still make sure to get a piece of pie next time we stop. Two cups of coffee plus our meals came up around $37 after taxes and before tip. Very much recommended this place, we will certainly be back.
Amazing food, gravy was the best I have ever had in my almost 50 yrs of life, or server was a peach. Even though we live in Dartmouth we will be back just to have this great food and service again. Thank youFood: 5/5
