Great place, you definitely should visit here you can get more familiar with hew haven history :

Nice slice of local history

The museum has everything you wanna know about New Haven County's history. Alot to see, me and my 12 year old son spent 3 hours and the time flew by. We appreciated what they had to offer for the public. And the 1st Sunday of the month is free admission so we just donated a few dollars in the box near the entrance.

It's a wonderful place & everyone needs to visit there!!

I did a talk there. They were very friendly amd helpful.

Good local history museum and it has free parking which is a huge plus as parking around here is a beast.

I really enjoyed the museum. I didn't know New Haven was so full of rich history. I thought their Amistad exhibit was quite interesting. I was disappointed the gift shop wasn't open when we went on a Saturday afternoon as I collect magnets from my travels.

Some interesting exhibits. Especially the Amistad story is well documented. But a comprehensive story of the city of New Haven is lacking.

Large helpful staff. Teen area, chess tables, quiet areas, Cafe, downtown location

There are great free museum in New Haven so even though it charges only small money, I do not feel it worth. But if you want to know more history in New Haven, it would be good place to go.
